MSP Rear defrost

So the rear defrost has not worked in my used MSP since I bought it. When I brought it back to the dealer they said the PO has replaced the window with an incorrect version that required to tabs versus the one for the rear defrost. Looking at the pilar plastic in the rear it looks like there was a spot for the second tab. Can anybody verify the number of tabs their window has?

I just looked at mine and it has two tabs on the driver's side. Don't forget that MSPs have the antenna embedded in the rear window at the top, too

I think that there is one that is empty.

My defrost doesn't seem to work either, anybody know about the wiring on it? My friend and I took out the stock sub enclosure and I am thinking we may have disconnected it by mistake...

the defrost switch is under the radio, above the knobs, a button on the right.
it concerns me that you dont know where that is, you must never get frost

^lol. Well you probably did disconnect something because the only way to take out the sub rack is to either completely remove the defrost module or cut the wires and reconnect. Check the module in the trunk and make sure all wires are connected, and that both prongs are connected to the rear window.

My car came without the amp or sub, I guess whoever took them out cut the defrost wires because it doesnt seem to work :(

it should illuminate red when on.
try tracing the wires from teh defroster connector back to the dash.
i bet they just ripped out the amp/sub and there is a busted connection someplace under the door trim or near the trunk

Not true. I completely removed the defroster module from the trunk when I took out the sub rack brackets, and the red light still turns on when i press the button.

Yeah, I the button still lights up but no defrost action. And I know I have some wires that we never bothered to try to hook back up after we took the sub out, so I guess I will go try to figure it out. Doh!

I guess I lucked out... someone removed the sub/amp from my car and my defroster still works...

Ill try to look @ it tonight and see where/what they did.
