hey i just bought a 2003.5 protege and i was wondering what parts i could put on it to gain more hp that won't break the bank

Intake, exhaust, FMIC,Take off the Intake mani and Mod it for better flow.

The cheaper is the last one, others are all about the same price depending on what you get.

Pics of the new ride? and location?

it has a fmic and a injen intake now!!!! hey i was wondering if you could tell me why my car fuel cuts at high rpms? and what can i do to fix it? also i'm from ohio and i'll add pics here soon!!!!

"There was a Miata in Dsport that had a similar modification done on the BP 1.8 and it gained around 25-30 hp from doing this modification, the builder dyno verified it. Car made about 500 hp to the wheels. I spoke to the builder of that Miata and he says its a worthwhile modification alternative to a sheet metal manifold. We were going to offer the service for modification, but it was too labor intensive even on a lathe to offer it to the public. The cast aluminum is difficult to grind down. The amount of the labor would have been around $500 to complete the modification."

so its worth it, it free's up alot of air! and you have to remove the VTCS/VICS.

No CEL's will be on, and its a sleeper Mod. No way to notice you even did it :D

damn well ill see what it does to mine, im in the process of what some say (ok most) say of blowing mine up i got filter and no cats at 16psi daily lol it hasnt shown sighns of wear yet and i race it literally everyday

ya well the thing pulls like a son of a b**** and will take out some evos i have around my town so its nice and ive seen some ecms keep up with high boost and ive seen some not be able to add more fuel to compensate, mine seems to be doing well and not running lean, well see what happens

i give you two weeks till it grenades. you have no EMS, no major exhaust work, and youre running 16psi?

(attention)
TURN. IT. DOWN.

these engines have toothpick connecting rods that are good for maybe 250whp with bolt on everything. without? you can run about 8-9 psi on a FMIC.

small shopping list: front and rear motor mounts (or inserts), vacuum lines, vacuum distribution block, and a catless midpipe. you could probably do all that on about 250. after that, yeah start to PNP, intake/exhaust mani's, EMS, downpipe, blah blah blah.

well its been two months now, and being at redline every single day, i know the norm is maxed out at 9ish but i got another engine waiting with forged s*** and just wanna see how long this thing holds up so far so good wideband shows great af and the spark plugs tell the same story

Out of the factory... some motors were blessed by The Devil... others by god.... Long live the MSP!

well i think mine was baptized before it was put on the lot cuz it puts up with a lot of s*** but being 7200 feet above sea level and its 0-30deg outside its helping keep boost temp down and cylinder temp down ill let everyone know when it blows lol
