MSP In Turbo Magazine

I just subscribed to that mag a couple weeks ago haven't got an issue yet. It better start with this one not the next or I'll be hella pissed

Yeah I think it's unflashed as well. I guess they read these boards some, because we're mentioned on the first page. Also, they found iON performance through here. Hope they learn about spool/the spool piggyback. That would be awesome advertising for spool and a sweet place to test the new piggyback. Time to go to calculus :(

The car didn't have the flash as of yet. I guess they'll be pushing back the installations :) they'll be doing our CAI as well as turbo-back exhaust in issues to come :)

we get a shout out on the first page!
"At protege5.com, we came across Ion Performance, which had developed a front-mount intercooler for the MSP."

Holy s***!

This may not be a big deal to most here but to me this is awesome!

Protege5.com...you all grownnss up...you alll grownnss up :'(

It's nice to know that car mag editors scan the pages of this fine community for info. ;)

This truly means a lot to me...

Okay...back to your regular scheduled programming...

in the last issue they talked about how rich it was so I am guessing it was not flashed.

flashed car has the same fuel...it's the timing that was advanced.

Well, advancing the timing will help lean out the A/F

I went and got the mag right after I read this thread:D

They said that the FMIC added about 13 hp after hard dyno runs with no breaks inbetween, showing the effectiveness at how this intercooler does not suffer heat soak. Each of the dynos after the FMIC install were within 3hp of each other. When they did testing with the stock IC, power dropped off after each run and ended up 7 hp less on the last run they did.

As it should, this is no small accomplishment for major publications to be utalizing this board for information.

the gains were in the mid range, right?
getting the car flashed gives about 10 hp also in the mid range and the best thing is FREE

Bravo to Turbo and High Performance Magazine. I will be getting a subscription now :)
Thanks for the scan Cone Tard the quick read through made up my mind; Nicely written and a good clean layout.
Ya know it's funny when you give a bit away it usually gains you business. I wish the RIAA understood that. :p
Heck, HP is always giving laptops, and desktops to us on ridiculously long trail times to woo us away from Dell.

Anywho, I'm off to find a magazine stand.

It's funny that they did not mention the carbon fiber hood or if they've done anything with the intake.

They are supposed to do follow-ups on this stuff later. It is supposed to span over three issues or something like that. Ion would be able to tell you more!
