MSP Gutted Intake Manifold

Has anyone ever gutted the oem intake manifold and the throttle plate in there? What are the pros and cons? If there is a write up somewhere i would gladly like the link.
 
pro- helps high end
con- hurts bottom end

you're basically moving the torque band around. short and wide runners are better for high end while the longer and thinner ones are better for low end.

When you gut the manifold you're basically making the runners wider
