MSP bucking

I was having the same problem with my protege and took it to the dealer numerous times to get it diagnosed and they told me everything from a problem with my intercooler hoses to bad coil packs/ignition wires so I finally decided to seek some help from some mechanic buddies of mine. The problem turned out to be the wastegate actuator had gone bad and was producing fuel cuts when the turbo was under load ~3.5k-4k rpm. The way we diagnosed my waste gate was removing the vacuum line leading to the waste gate and blowing into the waste gate through the vacuum line. If you can hear your waste gate opening and closing while blowing into it, chances are your waste gate is bad. I ordered the 6psi waste gate through ATP turbo and installed it in my car and now it runs perfectly.
