06 ms6 sport
I have a stock 06 ms6 with almost 90000 I have money saved up for exhaust, cai , and a standback system. I want to know if I should just save up more to rebuild the engine. I could use some advice.

You will probably get more responses if you post this in the engine section.

Why are you asking about rebuilding the engine? You do have high miles but if the maintenance has been done properly then that really shouldn't be an issue. What are your plans for the car? Are you just going to install the parts you listed or will you be upgrading other parts (turbo etc) in the future? That would help people give you sound advice.

Thanks I have maintained the car very well and it only had one owner befor me. The parts listed above arejust first on my list. I plan to do alot with the car but the only thing I'm iffy about is the tuning issues I heard come with these cars.

if your talking bigger mods like turbos and what not tuning is a must, as well as hpfp and a new intercooler

Agreed.. If your maintenance has been done and your care has been babied I would not worry about bolton mods..

You're intake manifold is probably really dirty from not having an oil catch can for 90K. Not a big deal, because you can install one and clean the IM w/ like 4 cans of brake cleaner. Here's what mine looked like at 30,000:

We just did that a few weeks back. I'd buy another gasket though... or the PTP intake mani spacer instead. I didn't have another gasket (was told I could 'reuse' the metal one), so I have to take it off again. I'm putting in the IM spacer in instead ($40 vs. $12 for the stocker).

My advice to you would be to get a sri, turbo inlet, oil catch can, rear engine mount, and full exhaust, and a bov, after that you can go fmic and some sort of tuner
(cobb or cpe) oh and get you some shifter spacers when you buy your engine mount.

Oops, I almost forget. One of the most important mods you need is an upgraded rear diff mount. SU makes them $175 and so does CPE $255 (rpm store). The stock rear diff mount is a very well known weak point, and is a must do. They break an axles snap even on a bone stock speed. The aftermarket ones I mentioned are bullet proof, and you can launch all day on them (slip the clutch, don't just dump it). Regardless if you launch or not, I HIGHLY recommend this mod. There is a thread on another forum dedicated just to "broken diff/axles" thread.

Just do a lot of research, and keeping asking q's and search some threads. I went like this:
1. SRI + TIP
2. TWM Stage 2 sts 2/ bushing, and all Redline synthetic tranny fluid + gear oil (my 1-2 shift was glitchy as hell and I couldn't stand it. This eliminated that completely.... car shifts like a dream. Have a vid if interested.
3. CBE
4. CPE rear diff mount, and SU rear motor mount
5. SU test pipe, Access Port, and hpfp (you'll need a hpfp using the AP), Denzo ITV-22 1 step-colder plugs (also need w/ AP)
6. CPE fmic + HKS bpv. The stock BPV works great. I couldn't use mine w/ the fmic, because there is no bpv flange (to mount on cold pipe) that is specific to the speed's stock bpv. I was holding 19 PSI all day on the stocker w/ no problems. the point is, you don't need to upgrade the stocker imho unless you decide to get an fmic.
7. Perrin ebcs

I'm waiting on a CPE fuel pump (don't buy the PTP internals... they F'd up my car). Finally, I have the following awaiting install when the hpfp arrives (been 6 weeks):
8. PTP intake mani spacer
9. Labonte Stage 2 w/m kit

I put the DP off earlier bc it's not a 'reversible' mod... I was under warranty until 2013/100K miles, but now that the warranty is pretty much useless, and ATP catted DP is next on the list. Then a pro-tune, and I'm done. I swear this time!! lol Maybe a BT and egw exhaust mani if the funds ever appear.
