MS6 AWD override?

only from rolls, but yes lol. noticeably faster haha. and its completely safe to run a speed6 in FWD...look at the speed3! it just disables the clutch in your rear diff to put it simply, but in reality the 4WD computer isn't even running. which is what decides how much power to toss the rear axles.

OK, am I the only one here thinking that a switch could be used to dis-able the 4WD starting with 3rd gear during a drag race?

Dyno numbers with/with out the 4WD computer engaged would tell us if there are any gains to be had.

Maybe some fuel milage bennies here as well?

Can anyone please point me in the right direction and let me know where I can find an AWD trans for my protege 97? Actually if you could also suggest a good engine that will work with it I would appreciate it.

I was trying to decide between but a 1.8L and replacing pistons, connecting rods, and crankshaft (all forged). or if someone knows where I could find an engine that could out perform that one.

The craze for protege's in Puerto Rico is low despite the fact I see 3 of them everywhere I go. I want to show people here that these protege's are more that just a family 4 door sedan.

just buy a new car.

if this is true that it disables the clutch for the rear diff. in the transfer case, wouldn't this mean that the clutch is susceptible to reverse power flow? what i mean is wouldn't the rear diff be spinning the clutch instead of the clutch spinning the diff? make sense?

it should go like this: engine->Transfercase->rear diff
but instead it would be Rear diff->transfercase

wouldnt this overspin the transfer case clutch in theory? obviously causing the clutch to "explode" for lack of a better word...

I've heard that pulling the e-brake up one click disables the rear end, used mostly to diagnose the rear diff whine. Is this same thing as un-plugging the black box?

A while back I brought my e-brake up 2 clicks and did a mild clutch-drop at a right-turn intersection near my house. I still had AWD. I wouldn't depend on this to disable the rear diff for dyno purposes.

its already been proven it doesn't disengage it fully. someone put their car on a lift pulled the e-brake up a click then gave it throttle and all 4 wheels spun.
