MS3 sub?

:
MSP & MS3
Anyone have any recommendations? I've got a sport model so I'm not even sure if it's possible to hook up a sub to the existing unit. Regardless, I'll most likely be going aftermarket anyway. Thing is... I don't wanna fill up the trunk area with a stupid box. Sort of defeats the purpose of having a hatch if you ask me. I'm coming from an MSP which had a really nice enclosure on the top area of the trunk. Trunk was still useable and the bass was pretty solid considering. I'd love to be able to put something similar into my MS3.

The ZEnclosures on eBay aren't very deep but they will take up some room. Another option may be the JL that goes under (???, maybe replaces) the spare tire.

Nice looking box. Just know that with that small amount of air space you are not going to get very deep bass. It will be kinda punchy but not deep. You will hardly hear it outside of the car, which could be what your going for. Just don't expect to get your favorite song on and crank it up and be blown away. Just not going to happen with a 8inch and small shallow box.

I had a JBL 10" in a ranger and it was awesome. Good sound out of a smaller speaker. I just don't suggest a very slim box as it will not have the sound most people are looking for.

My brother got one of those hide away boxes for two 10s and you can hardly hear it in his Ram quad cab truck. The box fits right under the rear seat and you would never know it's there. I told him how it would end up and now he is rather dissapointed with it.

Stealthbox is very nice, I was pleasantly surprised at how much bass it did actually add, very clean no distortion either even up in the mid 40s for volume. I also like being able to keep my trunk space. If your not looking to rattle surrounding cars while adding good clean bass inside I recommend it.

Heres a link to my install

8" don't require much airspace I think

if you haven't got the sub yet check low profile subs.....they don't need much box volume and deliver good bass...crutchfield will give you the specs needed for a box

Haha yeah its a dealer factory accessory. If you can get them to give you a discount for buying the car there its only about $40 otherwise I think they sell them for $50.

F'ers just charged me $75 The lowest I could find it for online was $60... but all of them were charging like $15 for shipping so it didn't make any sense. I just bit the bullet. If anyone knows any cheaper places to go... let me know. I'll gladly return this overpriced piece of rubber.

Sounds like a plan, glad I could help. If you take it back soon you may be able to talk yourself out of the 25% handling fee of returned items. I just ran into that today with end link nut's.
