MS3: Smaller Wheel + Smaller Offset ???

I found this set of wheels that I want soooo bad.. lol lol

Currently I am running my RX8 wheels on the MS3 with 225 and no issues whatsoever.

However, I want a set for track days only: I found this:

17 x 8.5 with +42 offset. Tires are 235/40/17

I know the offset might be "too low" but since the wheel is smaller, could this be done?

I believe that you will have adequate clearance for the inside/suspension but it will stick out a lot more causing you to sling up gravel/dirt/etc along side of your car and potentially rub if lowered or under hard cornering. Not to mention that your speedo will be nearly 5% off.

No I don't think that will fit. It will probly hit the fenders.
