Hey all. Well... for the last couple months of ownership I have mostly been getting pretty crappy gas mileage. In the high teen-low 20's area. This is due to a few things... mostly that I live a very short distance from my job and do a lot of driving on the street, and the fact that I am pretty lead footed 
Even with longer freeway trips though... maybe 30-50 miles... I never saw more than maybe 25 mpg's. I was starting to geta little upset... I expected better.
Well, this last weekend me and my wife took a little road trip, from Chesapeake VA up to Ocean City MD, then to Washington DC and back to Chesapeake again. All freeway/highway miles. Ended up being something like 600 miles. Mostly at around 60-70 mph.
Now, I'm not going off of the 'trip computers' numbers because it always seems to read 1-3 mpg too high. I'm using the regular method of full tank and then divide the number of miles driven by the number of gallons.
The lowest mpg was on the first leg of the trip, at 27.5 mpg's. That was because I had a little fun on the drive... of lot of that drive is empty 2-4 lane highway... so I decided to have some fun. Several blasts up above 100 mph and one up to 135 mph conspired to bring my mileage down a little. Considering how much speeding I did, I was surprised to get that high.
For the rest of the trip, I drove pretty much normal, again, averaging 60-70 mph, and saw mileage go up to 29 and 32 mpg on my next two fill ups. By the time I returned home, I had driven just over 200 miles from DC to Chesapeake, having full tanked in DC, and had just over 1/2 tank of gas left. So basically the MS could pretty much get about 400 miles between fill ups if doing 100% highway driving.
Oh, also worth mentioning, this mileage was with me, my wife, our luggage, and the A/C turned on THE WHOLE TRIP. I imagine turning the A/C off would have netted at least another mpg or two.
