MS3 Need For Speed Contest. Anyone else racing?

Questions:
Was it head to head or time trialing one at a time?
Was this on X-box 360?
Did you use regular controllers or racing wheel and pedals?
Finally how many people were racing there today?

One at a time. Xbox 360, normal controller. go against 15 others, then 4 best go to final round to compete against each other. Winner goes to vegas.

Well I lost, at least i got a hat and shirt :) I lost with a time of 1:52. Some crazy wu tang looking dude got a 1:38!

1:38 circuit lap? with which car?

I would guess they make you play with the MS3?

Thanks for the update FrigginGLI. I appreciate the advance knowledge.

u cant play with the ms3 in the demo unless they have a special version. my fastest is 1:39.92 with the lambo

Use the Ms3 only. Its a demo of the game. The next fastest time after 138 was 144 in our group, so I guess the asian dude sits and plays video games all day.

ah cool. wish you could play with the ms3 in the demo (it's in it, just cant select it). i just got 1:35.66 with the evo. time to put the controller down and go out

Wow, I hope the contest isn't on the same track as the demo. That would give anyone with the demo a HUGE advantage.

I was preparing for this this past friday, my fastest time was a 1:31 with the lancer.

I cant break that time anymore though, but I've managed to stay under the 1m 40's. Hopefully I can still do that by this afternoon!

bump

I ranked 2nd overall and won a $100 steering wheel from logitech, I fell just 3seconds behind the leader b/c of a car I hit on my first lap around (pissed).

What's funny is that all 4 of us sucked in the second round. I had the fastest Practice lap time of 1:43, so I was thee guy to beat, unfortunately I messed up when it mattered most. The times as it were, was very close. If everyone had a clean race, it would have been extremely close.

What's sad is that some people didn't even show up, losers.

-foolish-

It was the demo track, and when I stepped up to play a few practice rounds, I took a few shortcuts that a lot of the guys didnt even know existed (first)

Apparently, 600 people signed up for Atlanta, 16 got picked, 4 of them were forum members, and 4 or more of the 16 didn't show up, so two more forum members got in!!
It ended up being me, Rogue, Protege02, and Shadow102 as expected and Velocifero and my wife (The Dru) walked-on.

Velocifero was 2nd in the regular round, I was 4th. In the final round, Velocifero was 3rd, and I was still 4th! But hey, we got freakin' cool shirts and hats, so I'm still pretty happy. Now I just have to wait 6 months or so to buy the game!

Why 6 months? I don't pay more than $20 for a game. I just don't.

Geez all the hating on the gamers when the truth is anyone who cared enough to show up and play is probally into videogames. If they beat you it's cuz they were better. Period! Props to those who tried though.

i predicted my whole day. i predicted that i would have to go first, and i predicted that i would get 5th overall and that's what happened. i should have got a better feeling though, but all in all, i got a tee shirt n a hat.

I'm not seeing that much gamer-hate. I'm not sure where you're getting that impression.

Me, I'm cool with getting beaten at a video game by a more dedicated video gamer. Only thing that bugs me is the fact that while the winner of this contest is certain to be a gamer, they're less likely to be a driver, and they're going to win one hell of a car! I'm jealous, I'll admit it. I could make lots of lame excuses as to why I was 4th today:
I don't have an X-box.
I play all my racing games on the PC with a wheel and pedals, not a controller.
I didn't get to practice up on the demo.
I didn't know what button to press to get the in-car view I wanted for the final.
etc. etc. etc.

But they'd all be bulls***. I got beaten. That's ok. I got a cool T-shirt and even cooler hat. Life's good. :D

It's all good man!

im not hating...im also agreeing with what foolish said...its almost sad to see the ms3 go to a hardcore gamer.

i wish i would have had a spot to try this, but i didnt...nothing i can do about that.
congrats to whoever wins the car...they are getting one hell of a car.
