Doing my taxes and is the MS3 considered a Fuel Efficient car , what makes a car Fuel Efficient ??

for being able to go under 6 sec 0-60, and getting around 22.9 mpg (what I normally get) I'd say it's pretty damn fuel efficient =p My buddy's cayman does about the same speed and he's lucky if he can get 19mpg.

I average 25-28mpg depending on how I drive. I've scored as low as 19mpg per tank. Cold weather drops me about 40-60 miles per tank.

on average i get about 350 miles per tank.. thats.. 25mpg, i mostly do highway miles on it..

The best I have ever gotten was 26 mph and that was ALL highway. I usually get about 20 mpg mixed driving, and that's babying the s*** out of it. How are you guys getting 25-28? Intake? Synthetic oil? I've had it for 6,000 miles so it's broken in.

On a side note the trip computer is dead wrong on average mpg. Mine is typically off by 2 mph if not more by the end of a tank after a reset.

fuel efficient is probably 30+ our cars are "performance and probably wouldnt fall in that category even tho when im driving good i get 25+ city per gallon

i usually get in the 22-24mpg range for mixed driving. on the highway, i've gotten as high as 30mpg, but that was with some very careful babying and no zoom-zoom...:D

my trip computer is always off by like 2-4mpg, so i've never trusted it. given what i know about it, it gives me a bit of an idea how i'm doing, but i would never actually go by it...=/

well, I only average about 280miles per tank. (until the trip computer tell me I am at 0). Is that normal or should I be getting more? I do drive it between cities and on the freeway and I do floor it sometime. The trip computer still tells me that I am getting 22.9 though, even though if you take 280/22.9 = 12.22 gallon. how big is our tank?

No. For tax purposes (and I am using TurboTax) they clearly define the requirements. The car has to be a hybrid or a completely alternative fuel vehicle. Clearly we don't qualify. (Not to mention 24 mpg is not exactly Earth shattering fuel performance. If that was the case nearly every small output 4-cyl made would qualify. Not the case...)

im from canada and i get about 450 km to a tank.. the most i ever got was 490 and that was babying it a lot.. anyone else from canada getting better km/tank?

That's it? 279 miles to 304 miles a tank? Ouch... I don't think I have ever got less than 290 miles (about 467 km) even when running the devil out it.

don't trust the trip computer. the way to really know what you're getting is just record how many miles you've gone and how much gas you had to put in to fill it up. we have 14+ gallon tanks...i forget the exact decimal on 14.x...

wow my must be really ****** up... cause the most I have ever gotten out of her was 250 and that was a lil bit of highway added in with a lot of stop and go driving. I usually average 230 a tank.. and around 19-21 mpg. I have noticed though that the car really likes the highway and not so much the city driving. I do get in it sometimes.. as opposed to other times when Im very subtle. But 320 mpg?? that would be amazing.

I average 25-26mpg and my driving is 65 miles per day. Some times more. That is about 90% freeway driving at 65-72mph cruise, side street blasts and full throttle on ramp blasts to 75mph. I get on my car every day. I didn't buy it to baby it. The way to check your MPG the most accurate way is to go fill it up to the brim & reset the trip counter. Drive around until you have about 1/4 tank left then go fill it up to the brim again. Divide the miles that you drove by the gallons you just filled the car back up with. That will give you a very accurate MPG reading.
I did take two 200+ mile trips in my car and both times I averaged a little over 30mpg. That was no horsing around though just cruise at freeway speeds and a little side road driving.
