MS3 Clutch

I have an '07 MS3 with 24000 miles and the clutch is starting to slip. Anyone else experience anything similar?

No, I have not. Take it in. Clutches are usually not covered by warranty, but that is ridiculous. Sounds like a hyundai :P . Make sure you come in strong willed and agitated, but not a dick.

I have a 78 Ford Courier on the stock clutch... 200,000+ miles

i have seen two ms3 clutches fail before 15,000 miles. the clutch warranty from mazda is 12,000 miles so i wish you the best in getting them to warranty it. the dealer may try the whole "you abused the car" song and dance and not cover it.

Well I was going to have the clutch replaced today, but I have been driving the car the last 2 days and it hasn't slipped or @ least I didn't notice any major slippage if its happening, so I am going to continue driving it until it is consistent. I already have the clutch ready to go when if finally does fail the throwout bearing is noisy too. Sometimes it feels like it's not completely releasing, I know the system is hydraulic, I looked @ the rod that engages the cylinder through the firewall behind the pedal and there isn't any adjustment there, it plastic. I also notice that sometimes the clutch feels really weak like there isn't enough pressure from the pressure plate. I know there were problems with the MS6 too, so maybe these clutches aren't that strong. Makes me really miss my old EVO and Suby. So the shop I was working with recommended I just keep driving it too, get every bit out of the clutch that I can.

I have gone through the dealer and through Mazda Corporate and they will not cover the clutch as its a wearable part especially if its out of the 12Mth/12000 Mile warranty, the only way it would be covered is if there is an official recall, which would require more owners going in for the same thing. The dealer tells me it's a smoked clutch, I have never even dropped the clutch in this thing or power shifted it. I use it as my daily commuter usually just fartin around.
