MS3 Age & Occupation Thread

27, IT Professional for LCPS.

I agree with everyone's comments about the younger generation nowadays.
Working for the richest county (Loudoun) in the U.S. means that I usually see way better cars in the student parking lot than the staff parking lot of the schools I'm in charge of.

nicest car in the staff lot: Porche Boxter (except for my MS3! j/k)

nice cars in the student (high school -_-; ) lot:

new 7 series BMW, multiple 3 series, Hummers, Lexuses, Mazdaspeed 6 (zoom zoom! ok.. MS6 doesn't compare)

I mean... do those kids have any idea what it takes to actually buy a 7 series? That thing costs just a little less than my home that I bought 6 years ago. >_< I remember walking to school 'cause school buses didn't come to my neighborhood.

Miami is the land of "Look at me" and Posing so I know where you are coming from. From the best to the worst areas everyone wants to convince you they are rich. I see at least 1 Aston Martin a day. 1 Lambo, a couple of Ferraris, 5 porsches of various types, Mercedes, BMWs galore, Z06s ad nauseum ad nauseum.

Most of these people are in debt up to their eyeballs but they don't care as long as they look good. Even in the poorer neighborhoods there is always some ex police Caprice all jacked up on 24" chromes. That set of wheels probably costs more than my MS3!!!

And all of this is done on CREDIT... get your stuff and just declare Bankruptcy! Miami has the highest foreclosure rate in the country for obvious reasons. People have lost all perspective when it comes to money and debt.

I have friends who refinanced their home because they had racked up $50,000 on their credit cards... How do you pu $50,000 on a credit card in one year!?!?!?

It's like people have no fear of going bankrupt because there are no real negative consequences anymore. It's all very depressing to those of us who are financially responsible. But at least I sleep VERY well at night knowing that I could pay off almost all my debts with one paycheck. House and car are the only real debt I have.

EDIT: WOW! This was really off topic. OK I'll shut up or start a new thread later. (peep)

(found the Miami rant amusing though... you should drive the 101 freeway in LA... the word exotic only applies if it is NOT of european blood ....) but ok lets get it back on track then....

In that case, welcome "meng". And no, your not old til you hit 40 you got two years left whipper snapper.

As the originator of the statement, I will accept 38 as a good start.
BUT, as Evo Scooter says (well, kind of,) you will have to accept junior membership as a senior member of Mazda ownership. (rlaugh)
Welcome, Mocoso!! Good choice of rides too. ('Course, I am biased....)

Thanks for the welcome. Glad to see I'm not the only blue hair in the forum.

HAHAHAHA Blue Hair... That's funny... Funny thing with me is that I have more gray in my beard than on my head. I've got this huge patch of white right on my chin... Thank God it's not Blue!
