MS3 Age & Occupation Thread

no doubt, internet has totally changed the face of the workplace. The first job I had we all shared a 486 computer, now i have a laptop, desktop and blackberry. All this in a swing of 5 years, its crazy

You were working on a 486 five years ago? That's just sad.

He MUST mean 15 yrs ago? :D
Five years ago I was already on my 3rd Pentium... and that was at home.

yep 486 5 years ago. I worked in a cement mill R&D facility. Basicly the computer was an oversized calculator. We used windows 3.1 and I'm pretty sure the first ever version of excel to input data and print it out. We did have one pentium computer but it was attached to our UV vis spectrometer and PSD (particle size distribution). That vital equipment made that computer off limits for anything but testing.

Dayem!! I think they need to upgrade. :D
We had 386/486's when I worked @ an Exxon R&D facility, but that was in the early '90's, and they (486's) were brand new then!!
3.1. WOW!! Haven't seen one of those in YEARS either!!! (rlaugh)

How can you be a student AND a Service Advisor... and @ 19 no less?

Student during the school year and I piled all of my classes on Tues and Thurs so I can work Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat. And in Summer I am there all the time.

Plus VWs are easy. There's only like 8 different kinds to keep up with, not like Chevy or Ford.
