Does the Stock MS have a BOV? And if so can you make it louder. My friends seems to like sound like it has one when he shifts from 2800-4800 roughly. Also can anyone tell me the prices on the ION intercooler kits? If it dont have a BOV can I put one on it without changing the piping?

It has a BPV (by-pass valve).

Using a BOV open vent may cause the engine to stall...you have to set it up to recirculate the air back into the intake.

If you want a louder turbo sound, as well as a louder BPV, get an intake. It may actually increase performance (just a BOV will do nothing for performance) as well as sounding awesome.

The ION FMIC is $925 for forum members if I'm not mistaken.

You could add an aftermarket BOV/BPV to the stock pipes, but doing so won't do much for the sound unless you run open vent...and then you have the chance of stalling out the engine.

So basically the guy wants to get a louder BOV so he can get that nice (pssshhh) sound when he revs up. Once we put the intercooler and all new piping on tho with the injen intake would it make a difference?

Does it make the engine louder at idle, or just under throttle?

also how much louder? imnot trying to modify the car a lot, but i really really need to hear the engine more under acceleration.

I dont want it to be like my last car (91 rx7 TII)..haha w/ full intake/exhaust that baby was sooo loud...i miss her :'(
