MPI Tuner Library

once you pass that threshold, the injectors are forced to push too much fuel and become extremely inefficient..you need bigger injectors or extra injectors to handle the more fuel..

Very true!

I have installed my EBC today..haven't had a chance to try it out..but tonite..i should be boosting at 7-8psi!

I will let everyone know what happens in my thread!

Chas

Damn FMU, im now trying 8:1 and still way off the charts!
And to make it worse...its not precise...Thank god I have the MPI the fill up the lean spots....which are the first 1-3psi.

I hate it!

Linux,

Try that fix and let me know what's up!

Chas
Well,

The fix works. I have a LED hooked up in series with the Turbo Module, and everytime I hit the switch point, it now lights up, and my A/F ratio drops. I am going to lower my maps, zero fuel compensation, reset the stock ECU, and start over with the tuning. (eekdance) (eekdance)

Im already boosting good with the FM...

what fix are you guys talking about???

Linux...the idea of the leds is great!

Well, the idea of the LED was MPNick's. Check your PM box, and e-mail for details on the fix. Basically the Red wire from the TM (currently hooked into pin 80 of ECU) needs to be cut, and hooked into the Blue 12v power wire on the TM.

Looks like I will have to tune this thing again.
I got the car to boost 11psi strong all night with around 13-11 A/F on the MPI and on the greddy with the 8:1 FMU and the FM 02 Modifier.

I will do the fix tonight and test around with and without the FMU.

Thanx, I got MPNICK's email too. So...we will see.

Hoooolllly s***!

I just went for a test drive with my re-done maps and the Turbo Module accually working, and I was able to boost 5-6 PSI no problem!!! I still need to change my spark plugs out (I keep forgetting!!). Wow!!! This is what I've been waiting for! Now to reply my drive, and tune. (eekdance) (eekdance) (eekdance)

So what is the problem the turbo module never worked right from day one and the wiring in the instructions is wrong and Nick has sent you guys updated wiring info for the Turbo Module Is this correct and if so can you forward me the e-mail he sent you guys to packerfan@epix.net. Thanks Robert Tanacredi

So the turbo module had a problem?

And it is now fixed...Cool.

How is you car running Linux?

I am glad to hear your car is up & running Linux!

My damn EBC isn't working..i have been trying to fix for past 2 days...I am in need of a MBC!

Chas

Pictures of the Turbo Module indicator LED

Here are the pics of what I rigged up this afternoon:

TM_indicator1.JPG

TM_indicator2.JPG

The part number from Radio Shack for the LED is: 276-085
There is also a bigger red LED that I bought, but couldn't used due to me not having a big enough drill bit. Here is the part number for that one: 276-270

To hook them up, you hook the negative (-) wire of the LED to the orange wire going to the MPI Tuner. By process of elimination, you hook the positive (+) wire of the LED to the orange wire going to the Turbo Module. Both LED's have built-in resistors.

Sorry, but I didn't get an e-mail. I found out when I called him.

Hmmm, iI'm begining to wonder if the resister in the green LED may cause some signal degredation to the Turbo Module. The small Green LED can handle more power than the bigger red one, so maybe it has a resister with a higher value. (hmm). I was using the red one before. Thinking back, I guess my ECU out of the initial learning stage after being reset, and is just trying to pull fuel. I guess I have to get my voltages up on my analog out!!!
