Modern Performance Inc. is MPI, and it is a piggyback computer that will work with the stock ECU and allow you to control fuel delivery and control timing. That will allow you to tune your car to it's optimum for any mods you may have.MP5driva03 said:Sorry guys, this sounds really interesting, but I have NO clue as to what you are talking about. What does MPI stand for, and how does it work? Also, how much does it cost, as I would love to get one assuming the number gains you have posted are correct. Thanks!

I might be headed to our PR plant in August (third week). . .maybe I can help you tune then! Woohoo. . .party in your car! Better be running!igdrasil said:Hey people....remember this is a piggyback, a programmable unit. Its not a toy, you will need to tune the car and it takes a bit of dedication and time.
Me for example...sometimes I get so damn frustrated, but its obvious to feel that way because this is a new experience for me, I dont know s*** about tunning, so, if you are going to get this, dont try it alone, ask questions and find solutions.
The MPI works, it just needs to be adapted to every car. Just like APEX, is not a plug and play and go....it will need tunning.
For now the NA MPI would be $795.00. It is a NA Module. People have asked me about going to a turbo later on. I would exchange the NA for the turbo Module for $15.00 to cover the shipping cost.DooMer_MP3 said:Nice. Is this like a NA module then? Or is it built into the MPI itself? How much will the regular price NA version be?
Chris
Do not have ten people yet. Later on may still have the disocunt. $795.00 less 30% for the first ten.mp3moose said:^ same with me....how much would the NA unit be later on at regular pricing?
did you get my p.m nick? our n/a car is ready to go for testing if you need itMPNick said:Do not have ten people yet. Later on may still have the disocunt. $795.00 less 30% for the first ten.
Jeez. I would be ready for this if my motor hadn't blown up. I'm still getting parts together to make sure that doesn't happen again.MPNick said:Do not have ten people yet. Later on may still have the disocunt. $795.00 less 30% for the first ten.
How did you blow up an NA engine? No oil, to many rpms? First ten get the 30% off. You may still be there.xelderx said:Jeez. I would be ready for this if my motor hadn't blown up. I'm still getting parts together to make sure that doesn't happen again.
Oil starvation due to oil sloshing away from the oil pick-up. Racing in the mountains never gave the oil enough time to settle in the pan and I lost a rod bearing. All the N/A Proteges that have blown went the same way. We'll see where I'm at, but I have to make sure I don't lose another motor first.MPNick said:How did you blow up an NA engine? Have you ever seen the Accusump system?xelderx said:Oil starvation due to oil sloshing away from the oil pick-up. The Accusump system has been discussed. The main problem with the Proteges is mounting. There isn't much room in the engine bay for the canister to be mounted.MPNick said:Have you ever seen the Accusump system?
It will hold 2 quarts of oil in a tank under pressure. Then if you pull high Gs and you oil pressusre drops it will send the extra oil back to the engine. Autocross guys use it with good results.

He is the company that sells them. Ask for Eric or Peter. They are great people.
