Mpg's and Computer Accuracy

I go over a very high level bridge daily when the wind blows you around pretty good...it blows around a little more than the 3 hatch did but its not anything that is bad...just have to keep your hands steady and drive through it.

????????? I haven't noticed any issues and the car is stabler than my wife's Fit.

You might want to check tire pressure and alignment. Toe-out would make the car 'touchy'.

I've done 85 in my 2, and it feels just as stable and planted as our Mazda 3 does. Granted, I don't do that speed very often because I'd imagine I'd get like 15mpg if I did.

+1 this one. i drove from FL to IL not long after we got my wife's 2. on the drive up, driving through the mountains in GA and TN felt squirrely, and i'd chalked it up to mediocre tires, but while we were in IL I stopped and checked tire pressure, and one side was significantly higher than the other (something like 28 on one side and 33 on the other). I brought them all up to 34 and the car felt much better coming back. I had the exact same experience when i got mine (in fact, I'd forgotten we went through it with the wife's until after day 1 of the FL to MA drive. Filled the tires up the morning of the second day and it was much more pleasant.)

Well, right now I am at 1,200 miles and am noticing the mpgs slowly starting to increase.

About 90% of my travelling is highway between 65-70mph, and I've averaged 34.5-34.7mpg for the last few tanks. The first tank or two was only 33mpg or so. I think this is mostly due to the engine still breaking in. Once I broke in my Kawasaki, the fuel economy nearly doubled, although the same effects in the Mazda are extremely unlikely haha

Taking into account that this thread is about "MPG's and computer accuracy," I'm referencing that speeds over 70 are not conducive to high MPGs. My tire pressure and alignment are meticulously maintained, and I'm comfortable at speeds greater than 85mph.... and so is the car. You kinda took my statement out of context.
