MP5 SRT-4 engine conversion

"i'm gonna rip that engine s*** out and put it in my msp..."
quote from AFaceInTheCrowd in another thread.

As a dream mod wouldnt it be nice to drop the SRT-4 engine in the MP5. Anyone have any Idea how difficult it would be to do something like that. Im sure it would be next to impossible, and everyone here might s*** a brick at the suggestion, but Damn, just imagine the ass you could whoop.

here's how you do the conversion;

1) Drive your car to the Dodge dealer
2) Sign some papers and hand over the keys
3) Save your self some time and money on the trade in
4) Drive away in your new SRT4

Seriously, you are talking insane amounts of customization and serious amounts of unreasonable cash

i've seen some pretty whacky swaps..aside from the obvious axles/hubs/tranny s***..the biggest problem really..would be getting one of those motors..

i want an srt-4. screw the mazdaspeed.. lol... I like to go fast and go straight. i dont need to be turning through my neighborhood @ 90. I want a yellow skittle.

Absolute sacrilege (no), to even 'think' about putting a Dodge engine in a Mazda. You should be strung up!

Ya wanna Dodge - buy a Dodge! (puke)

Actually wouldn't it be a PT GT??? :p

lol, I knew when I started this thread that some people would be bothered by it, and I guess that was partly my point. Imagine the MSP with an engine of the SRT-4 build. What a kick ass motha ****** that would be.

...sure; if it were a Mazda engine (only). I like my MAZDASPEED's power just like it is (again). There can always be 'more'. I don't care if were talking Ferrari, Lambo, etc...

or just spend all of that money on forged internals, bullet-proof tranny, turbo, w/ full engine mgmt?

why not custom fab a 13b into your engine bay?

you would have to do a custom rear wheel drive conversion including trans., drive shaft, rear axle, etc. that would cost you more than the price of a used RX7 with a 13b

duh.

but these guys are already talkin mega-bucks, with what they are saying... you arent gonna find a wrecked srt-4 yet, so that means a new engine $$$$$$$

Actually, I have been researching how hard it would be to turn the MSP into an AWD sport20. There really is not that much differences, from what I have found. Yes, you would need to totally change out the rear end, but its mostly bolt on stuff. The expensive side of things, is buying the full driveline.

My friend is doing a 1.8 RS impreza FWD swap to a STi AWD drivetrain. moral of the story? it's not hard to do a fwd to awd conversion if there are models of the car out with either fwd or awd drivetrain, such as ours with the sport20. just get the oem parts from mazda and it'll be vola, just like boostisgood said

i forgot his name, but he keeps shooting this idea down by naming ALL the differences of a Sport20 vs us spec protege.

i didn't know that sayin what i said could start a thread like this... hmm, the power of words.
