MP3 vs. Prelude

that sounds like a pretty special accord triton. Seeing as how it is a V6 with a 5 speed. Did he swap in the manual transmission? He must have because V6 accords don't come stock with a 5 speed.

I don't know i was just talking to the guy on the phone about nos and he told me about his car with nos. I don't think his car is special but i remember last year i went to carroyl's tires to get new rims on a guy with a Black Accord was talking about my car and asked me what's the fastest i've tooken it up to i told him i hit 131mph and 135mph. i ask him if his Accord had a governer he told me that his was a Special Accord made only 7 of them. He said no there's no governer. That he's gone 120mph in 4th gear at 8000rpms and have tooken it up to 148mph. I don't know if he was lying or not but i have never heard of an special Accord only 7made.

Special accord? Only 7? You have to wonder about that... See, when people tell me s*** like that I don't like to believe anything they say. If they are going to lie about little things like their car and s***, how much could that person possibly know about working on cars?

In my opinion i kinda believed him and kinda didn't. 1: i know a Accord cannot go that fast. 2: I kinda believed him when i looked at his interior his Speedometer said 150mph and his Tachometer said 9000rpms with a 8000rpm redline. On the bottom of the tachometer it said Accord V-6 like on the Civic Si's.

so you know, my speedometer says 150 and my friend's mom has a 2000 accord which also says 150 so that doesn't always mean something. The redline is interesting. It sounds like the dash of an Integra GSR, hmm.....

to clear things up, as stated on the NOS faq, available by searching for nitrous oxide faq on yahoo.com......nos is best used at early activation due to increased torque. so you CAN use it early, and since it is activated at WOT, when you shift it will not be activated (unless you're powershifting, which is bad in the first place). you can activate it ad 90+ MPH if you wish, but as spoolin pointed out, it probably isnt a really good idea, and as the NOS faq points out, you benefit more at early activation. 97 v6 accord 5-spd, 148mph. special 7 only accord with a 8000rpm redline....everyone seems to be lying to you triton. and im not calling you a liar this time...but when you post unverified information such as that, it only makes you look bad.

Dont' blame on Trition, I been told by a guy in my school that he has a V7(not typo, he said 7) engine under his carmy's hood. This is the biggest joke I have ever heard in my life.
;)

My first bottle lasted about a week :D It's addictive, hehe.

You know one reason you wouldn't want to use N2O towards topspeed is that if you hit your engines cutoff point and your fuel pump stops sending fuel while spraying, then you better brace youself for a big bang. :)
It's not recommended to use N2O for topend.

I do have a problem though, I checked my plugs the other day and they have both the sooty look to them(Meaning too much fuel) and the rainbow effect(meaning too much N2O).
Are there any techs out there that could help me with this? Saturday I will be going to a local speed shop that uses N2O regularly at the track. They should be able to help me. I spoke to a guy there last time I had my bottle filled and he told me that they go through a 10lb. bottle with each run, and this is a 1/8 mile track. I was like   :D

Ok, guys if nos is not to be used in the topend range then how come i went to the bowling alley last night, where all the barax navy guy's hang out told me that his Civic Ex has nos and he uses it on topend to mess around with people. another guy with a Yellow eclipse GS with blue racing stipes uses his nos on topend. I Ask the guy have you smoked any car on the start with using nos. All of the navy barax guys just laughed and said what for. My car along with the mods i have can't handle the nos on the start. I told him a couple of people on this website uses nos or n2o whatever on the start and it's only supposed to be used on the start and not on the longrun. the guy told me let them blow the pistons and cam gears, pulleys and there whole damm engine. So i say is it possible to use nos on the start "the guy says i don't have a clue but when i got my nos installed at visalia one guy said to use nos at highend power range. I ask the guy with the civic Ex if he has been to the track And what's the best time he has run. He say's with only Intake, exhaust, headers, pulleys, iridium spark plugs i ran 15.8 at 88mph. After he got a set of springs, cam gears, clutch set, throttlebody and 50+shot of nos. He went back to the track and used nos in 4th gear ran 14.1sec at 101mph. The guy in the Eclipse all he had was a body kit, neon glow kit, Nos, intake, exhaust and gtechpro. He ran 0-60mph in 5.7sec and 1/4mile at 14.6sec. I think he told me that thing was inaccurate cause there's no way he ran 0-60 in 5.7sec and 1/4mile in 14.6. But i asked him what's the fastest he has tooken his Eclipse up to. He said around 125mph. i asked both of the guys what year there cars were. the civic Ex is a 97 and the Eclipse Gs is a 95. But to find the truth about nos i'll ask my real buddy who owns a 97 Eclipse GS-T that bowls san joaquin tournaments with me this saturday. see yeah :D

to clear things up...the top end of your power band doesnt necessarily mean you have to be going 90+mph...i think the power band on our cars starts around 3000RPM and drops off around 6000...and has nothing to do with speed

Just don't redline while spraying. Thats the big thing. Because you have a chance of your feul cutting off and that is not good. I'm not sure exactly why, something about blowing your car up. I'm sure theres someone here that can explain it better than I can. Go to the library and read up on the topic of "N2O" and become enlightened :D and stop believing everything you hear.

I don't know a damn thing about mods or anything of the sort, but this is a hilarious set of posts. I especially enjoyed tritons comments about getting information from an audioshop, then when that was knocked he goes to the bowling alley for info. Please tell me you go to the art gallery to learn wrestling moves and my day will be complete.
As for my MP3, I'm staying stock. Looking to rock the SCCA Autocross in the midwest in 2002. I'll let you all know how it goes!
