what is the closted stock? i just beat a prelude on the highway yesterday a newer 1 like a 1999 thoes run like 15.7's i dono some 1 wanna help me out?

Low 16's, maybe a 15.8-15.9 if your a professional driver. The other driver might not know how to drive.

how can the mp3 run high 15's when the other protege run at the high 16's? is the ecu that big a difference?

The timing curve is more aggresive so yes that just 10hp more (the mp3 has a better exhaust too) but I'm sure the curve will pick up power at a wider rpm range or more effectively. TQ should also increase. If you have a car is a DIZZY play with a timing light some time (note: use high octane for that) and you feel a good difference with a few degress of timing change.

Absolutley!! If they can drive it and the car is setup right, mid 13's shouldn't be a problem. I had a turbo'd MP3 so I know how fast they can be.

if you know of another mp3 owner in your area...and a good mazda tech, he can flash the mp3's ecu to your car...i did it for a GA member. the tech only charged us $40 to do it.

no, if someone wants an mp3 ecu in their car (p5, protege), they can have a tech download the mp3 ecu from a car and flash it to the p5 or protege...so no one has to buy an ecu for $150ish...it'll save them 100 easy.
