MP3 single disc vs. 6 disc..pls clarify models/yrs

I've been searching, but finding conflicting information.

PRE 08.5 MP3 capable CD players:
A. What years were they offered?
B. What models did they come in?
C. Which had the 6disc vs the single tray?

Please include what you know for non mazdaspeed hatches and sedans.

For '04-'08 the Mp3/CD player was an optional dealer accessory and was not standard on any model. Some dealers installed them on cars so they could charge more, but they weren't an option from the factory.

For '04-'05 the Mp3 player was single disc only. For '06-'08 the Mp3 player was 6CD.

Starting in '08.5 all CD players in Mz3's (single or 6) play Mp3s. Note that the main harness pin out changed, so it's unknown if a '08.5 HU would work in a '04-'06 car.

There is no difference stereo-wise between the 5-door, sedan, and MS3.... for all intents and purposes there are no general differences between them beyond the specific things that separate them (engine, brakes, suspension, etc.)
