MP3 / Mazdaspeed Protege Conversion Guide

yes its an entire kit... they have a foglight kit(yellow) or a driving light kit(white) the kit comes with wiring harness, lamps, relay, switch.. They should be here soon, but I want to make sure they fit well before I recommend them to anyone. I'll let you know how it goes in about a week, is that cool?

you can check them out here: http://www.piaa.com/Lamps/Lamp-pages/540.html
Oh and the Piaa covers come off the lamps so dont worry.
I'm ordering them through Protegegarage.com, Ken can get them but they arent listed on the site.

thats why you have to shop around. I havent spent over 2000 and im almost done... just need to put the parts on.. I think for under 2000 for a complete OEM makeover its pretty reasonable. I would say that you would agree if you drove around an LX instead of an MSP. Makes a world of difference in appearance

This is for MazdaProbe GT:

can you tell me exactly how much your whole conversion cost. i have a 2003 protege lx and would love to make the same conversion. i would appreciate it very much. A list and the cost would be great.

Original list = $3543.90 + labor.... doesn't seem worth it.
I've got less money invested in my car than a Speed. It's faster and more unique. Oh yea, and my insurance company doesn't know that my car has a turbo.(sssh)
I could have bought a Speed but did the math and looked at the hp numbers and decided that this was the way to go. Don't get me wrong, I love Speeds but I always have to go with something different.

Next time I see ya I'll give you a ride. I'm thinking of getting the Mazdaspeed Protege ECU and turning up the boost a little more. (naughty)

anyone have the part number/price of the MS wheels? they're only available in gunmetal, no?

I'm not sure which one is which but here are the numbers: 9965-12-7070 list$ 329.00 and 9965-18-7070 list$ 522.00. I believe the more expensive ones are the 2003.5 wheels. I know they look good, but you may want to consider some aftermarket ones.

for the last 3 days i have searched but couldn't find this thread. so i8 asked everybody and nobody answered. so thanks for the great write up and since my front end was crushed i will now have the 03 msp front end and i will get the sideskirts and rear soon.
thanks again

What's up? I haven't forgot to check out that stuff for you. I'ts been busy as hell at work. I also just got a pocketbike and have become addicted to it. I've already put a carb, pipe and a bunch of other goodies on it. It's a blast. Anyway, I work this Saturday. Thats usually when I get a chance to get caught up. It may be busy though cause of the "Mazda Experience." I don't know if you've heard of it but it's an appreciation thing that Mazda does for new car buyers. They hand out a bunch of free stuff and check over the customers vehicles. They are actually giving away a cool looking Mazdaspeed hat. Got mine already.(2thumbs) Anyway, I'll try to get back at you on Saturday.

Sorry, the only other pics are on the forum somewhere. They are basically of the turbo setup. I haven't taken any pics of my car in quite some time. I should cause I've added some goodies that I don't have pics of yet.Maybe I'll try to get some pics at the track on the 8th???????? Thanks for the compliments!

No worries man! HAHAHA thats funny that you got into pocket bikes too. My friends up in Chicago have become obsessed with those things. They have done all the bolt ons and have come to the point where they are trying to find a way to hook up some nitrous to it!!! HAHA
