Finally letting my CX-7 with 70K miles go. I need something with 3 rows of seats and I've been living in fear of engine-failure since the AC debacle. I'm at the point where the CX-7 is starting to cost me too much money to maintain, so I figure it's time to get out while I can still get a decent trade-in on it.
Looked at mini-vans (ew!) and other 3-row cross-overs and decided the CX-9 is the best way to go. Dealer has a 2007 with 30K miles for $22K and they're giving me $12K for my trade on the CX-7... and that's with all it's issues. It needs a VVT valve, something down in the front end (knocking going on down by the front driver-side wheel when making right turns) and smart-key door button (it disintegrated recently, which pissed me off since I take very good care of my car!).
Despite the problems I've had, I really have loved the CX-7. I will say, I was hoping to get an 08 CX-9 to avoid some of the first-year issues, but the price and options are right. Car is being certified by dealer and comes with a 1-year bumper-to-bumper warranty + 7 year/100,000 powertrain warranty. Though I'm a little baffled about the trim because the dealer has it listed as a Sport but it has the options of a Touring... full leather interior with heated seats and moonroof.
I'll being doing a similar custom radio job like I did with the CX-7... full nav, rear camera, ipod and bluetooth support. Got a quote from the same guys that did my CX-7 and I'm hoping to get it done relatively quickly. Will have to see...
I'm supposed to pick the car up tonight, so wish me luck
