Since all the fuss seems to be here, maybe its here that I'll ask again. 1st MP3, you had a good answer to the head unit quiestion I asked in the "nice little speaker upgrade" post I made, BUT I asked that quiestion in the PR5 forum so that someone with a PR5 stock stereo could answer it, now everyone who I wanted to see my quiestion on "how do I get the factory CD player out?" (in a Protege 5)<---- has to look for it...whats that all about...when it would get the right answer where it was. I posted in the PR5 section cause thats who would be able to answer me. Am I thinking wrong?
Later
You mean they will have to look in the LOGICAL place for the answer?
Oh and god forbit those with a different car but, THE SAME DAMN RADIO see it.
Should they have to know to look in here for it? Does that one peice of info really need to be flooting in 7 other sections that it has nothing to do with?
How about instead of ""how do I get the factory CD player out?" (in a Protege 5)", try "how do I get the factory CD player out?"!
The cars distiction is useless as that radio is in MANY different cars not just proteges. THe cars is the same as any other protege with that radio and the radio is removed the same in every model that has it so again it is far from being best placed in this forum.
Keep in mind a Miata can have the same radio and should a guy driving a miata just wanting a quick tidbit of CAR AUDIO AND ELECTRONICS advice know to look in the P5 section. Thats totaly illogical.
The only debate you could even make in a similar way would be for the MSP as it has a specific radio no other protege has. HOWEVER, that radio is commonly found in the aftermarket and kenwoods aren't much different from unit to unit so again the audio section, where those with the install knowledge and experience regardless of the car they drive, tend to hang out and watch.
Again think of what it would be like if in the 500 threads that were in random sections asking audio questions that I could answer but I avioded them becuase of them being in the wrong section or I never saw them. In other words if the audio moderator here (ME) was like most others in any other BB system and mostly watched just the audio area. IT WOULD BE UGLY. Just to have fun I let a thread go for 3 pages of nonsense in the MSP section once. NONE of the common gurus in the audio section ever even knew it was there. So how could the poster EVER expect a decent answer.
Asking a question in the correct thread has several advantages:
1. Everyone can rationalize where to find that information if they must regardless of the car they driver.
2. The person asking the question will get the most qualified help and not some random junk or speculation.
3. The search functions will be far more concentrated and easier to sort through as there will only be a few threads on the subject and not a few in each car type section. I don't know about you but I would rather only go through 5 focused and well answered threads rather then 25 random ones filled with bulls*** to find a correct answer.
