Moved: Too many damn moved threads.

i agree...i mean, if i start a thread asking about doing a clean uninstall of my roof racks, it gets zipped away to the app forum (assuming i didnt do a search first)...if i wanted to ask people their opinions on painting my valve cover with a combination of non-hi-temp and hi-temp paint, i would want it in this forum, because as p5 owners we all have valve covers, not the plastic or whatever that mp3 owners have...but i knew it would get moved so i put it in the app forum, and lo and behold, someone told me how to paint the mp3 type cover...while they are a great help, the specific question i asked could not be answered by that person....there are other examples of this all over the place, but i just named a few...so now i pretty much frequent the p5 forums only to steer newbs in the right direction as i once was directed

Hesitation is a MSP specific issue as no other car gets it even FI ones.
Most of the questions about the stereos in all forums I mention to move or that its in the wrong thread. Only Nuke seems to take care of buisness though.
There are thousands of subjects in this area not moved and never needed to be. I think you can come up with a few more.

Onlt the MSP and MP3 had plastic valve cover adn both were limited edition cars. There are plenty of regualr protege owners on here that have done it and could aid you in your question. Not to mention MSP and MP3 owners that have done it in the past. Why limit your answers?
The only reason someone will mistake your car is because you didn't say what your car was clearly.

Since all the fuss seems to be here, maybe its here that I'll ask again. 1st MP3, you had a good answer to the head unit quiestion I asked in the "nice little speaker upgrade" post I made, BUT I asked that quiestion in the PR5 forum so that someone with a PR5 stock stereo could answer it, now everyone who I wanted to see my quiestion on "how do I get the factory CD player out?" (in a Protege 5)<---- has to look for it...whats that all about...when it would get the right answer where it was. I posted in the PR5 section cause thats who would be able to answer me. Am I thinking wrong?

you just want all the audio-related threads for yourself dont you 1st? so selfish... ;)

Many people want p5 specific responses, so they should be able to have their thread here, even though the topic is not p5-ness in general, but has plenty to do with being a p5.

the point of this thread is not the specific threads i speak of, but the general lack of community in the p5 forums with threads getting moved being a part of the issue.

im not saying it was wrong by definition to move them, but just because they CAN be moved, doesnt mean they SHOULD be moved.

have a nice day. :)

You mean they will have to look in the LOGICAL place for the answer?
Oh and god forbit those with a different car but, THE SAME DAMN RADIO see it.
Should they have to know to look in here for it? Does that one peice of info really need to be flooting in 7 other sections that it has nothing to do with?
How about instead of ""how do I get the factory CD player out?" (in a Protege 5)", try "how do I get the factory CD player out?"!
The cars distiction is useless as that radio is in MANY different cars not just proteges. THe cars is the same as any other protege with that radio and the radio is removed the same in every model that has it so again it is far from being best placed in this forum.
Keep in mind a Miata can have the same radio and should a guy driving a miata just wanting a quick tidbit of CAR AUDIO AND ELECTRONICS advice know to look in the P5 section. Thats totaly illogical.

The only debate you could even make in a similar way would be for the MSP as it has a specific radio no other protege has. HOWEVER, that radio is commonly found in the aftermarket and kenwoods aren't much different from unit to unit so again the audio section, where those with the install knowledge and experience regardless of the car they drive, tend to hang out and watch.

Again think of what it would be like if in the 500 threads that were in random sections asking audio questions that I could answer but I avioded them becuase of them being in the wrong section or I never saw them. In other words if the audio moderator here (ME) was like most others in any other BB system and mostly watched just the audio area. IT WOULD BE UGLY. Just to have fun I let a thread go for 3 pages of nonsense in the MSP section once. NONE of the common gurus in the audio section ever even knew it was there. So how could the poster EVER expect a decent answer.

Asking a question in the correct thread has several advantages:
1. Everyone can rationalize where to find that information if they must regardless of the car they driver.
2. The person asking the question will get the most qualified help and not some random junk or speculation.
3. The search functions will be far more concentrated and easier to sort through as there will only be a few threads on the subject and not a few in each car type section. I don't know about you but I would rather only go through 5 focused and well answered threads rather then 25 random ones filled with bulls*** to find a correct answer.

Trust me, if its a grey area they aren't moved. And a feeling of community is easily done but why try to limit that to just the P5s?
Are the MSP owners that bad that you must segregate yourselfs in this forum? (rofl)

If that thread which only positive aspect is community, lessens the likelyhood of a correct answer, will make organization a b**** and cuase a newbi to re ask the SAME DAMN QUESTION in my area when he wouldn't of had it been easily found becuase it was in the right place. Then you can bet your ass its getting moved and so will all such thread. Mods have the interest of the entire board and the responsibilty to make it the best they can, P5 section be damned.

If you guys are having a lack of P5 community issue then maybe you need to find a way to be more community oriented or just realize that the site is ment for all proteges to be a community.

I'm personally glad things get moved. For example, I don't give a rat's ass about car stereos, so I don't go near that forum, and I don't have to waste time reading endless posts about wiring, wattage, sound dampening, whatever.

I can think of lots of topics that belong the the P5 forum, and do tend to stay here when posted:

P5 features and problems
P5 brand and its past/future
P5 pricing and dealership issues
Any questions regarding installation or performance of mods as relating to the P5

I don't see the problem, frankly. I've never had a topic moved. I guess if you are always having your topics moved, you should think more about where you're posting.

I don't understand how you guys can even begin to say there is no P5 community.....I happen to go to EVERY specific model forum on the board EVERY time I log in....and with the exception of the MSP section....the P5 forum has more posts EVERYDAY then any her section.......

Craig....and the others....thank you for your support.

(stash)

the very reason that threads get moved was stated by ANDY...not EVERYONE as an interest in all things that relate to an individual model....its the very reason why there are different sections...not everyone wants to have to dig through all the posts that do not interest them.....and thus different sections because there are many aspects of our cars that are identical regardless of the specific model or even year model for that matter....not to mention....if everyone REALLY wanted it to all stay seperated....Enry and Antoine would never have merged all the boards together into one big happy family.
