it should be very easy to do.
just replace the hatch struts with motorized actuators and remove the latch assy (actuators will pull and hold the hatch shut)
now all the wiring and mounting and the install might be a little harder, not to mention actuators are not very cheap.

I hate pimp my ride. They do the stupidest things to those cars. The use up all the valuable storage space for garbage, the put the biggest heaviest wheels on there that they can, then they give it some gawdy paint job. And when the former rust-bucket is clean and shiny, they add a bottle of Q oil to boost the performance and revitalaize the engine.

I like pimp my ride. I don't love it, but it's neat to watch. Some of this s*** is stupid, but alot of it is cool. Also, they use different oil each episode depending on which company if forking over the sponsorships/advertising.
tuner transformation is:
cool enough car + stupid ass graphics + cheap ass stereo system + ugly rims that you dont even get to keep + NO2 on everything with a gay ass LED purge kit + bolt on exhaust

pimp my ride is funny.
tuner transformation is kinda sad.
west coast customs probably just does it cuz it's free advertising and they get to flex their modding skills. They can do anything with any car, essentially - so imagine what they can do with your H2 or Merc SL55, etc...
