motor oil

what motor oil should I put in my mazdaspeed protege with exhuast and fmic and walbro fuel pump the oil I ran in it befor sucks what do u guys recomend

check the manual man , thats why they supply it with the car.

or

5w30 fully synthetic if you live in " cold area" ex, mobil, redline, Lucas, rp etc.
10w30 fully synthetic if you live in " not-cold areas" same brands of motor oils.

I run Castrol 0W30.
It's fully synthetic and made in German and it's Porchse approved.:D

yeah bp seems to be good at what it does but i've had bad experience with castrol, it made my A4 eat oil like crazy. i don't know why but it did so i'm not a fan of castrol so far.

the rest speak for them selfs.

Well if you don't know, everything other than 0W30 is crap because it's not true synthetic and not made in Germany.

0W30 is a really thick oil, almost as thick as a 40 weight oil.

what kind of oil...

what do you run in your trans? is there a different fluid for the gear box and the trans? i guess they are different on a rwd tranny as they might be separate for those. IDK. any can you help?

I use Mobil 1 10w30 and it does me fine alongside a bosch filter. I don't run anything but stock though.

I switched from Castrol Syntec 5w30 to Royal Purple 5w30 and noticed an immediate difference, seemed much smoother while running.

I used 10w30 Mobil 1 and beat the **** out of my car for 120,000 miles until I broke a ringland with over 20PSI on a NIck turbo.
I changed the oil every 10,000 miles (I drive 700-1000 miles a week) and when we tore it apart it was clean as a whistle no problems so I don't feel the need for exotic oils :)
I always put 4 quarts in and took about 4 quarts out well, until I ****** up the motor that is. Then I poured a river of oil out of my intercooler. (wow)

Now it is Castrol Synthetic 0w30 made in Germany or TheMan will come over and beat me with an old rod. He has the hots for Castrol 0w30 synthetic.
Personally I am ok with the Mobil 1 but his, tender, little hands doth birth this engine so I must obey.

at stock boost levels you need to go with Mobil 1 5w30
you can use royal purple if you want, but your just throwing money away.

I drive 700+ miles a week and still do oil changes every 3k miles.
ITS ESSENTIAL!
and your oil filter is twice as important as your oil.
NO CHEAPIES!
OEM or better only! K&N makes a good oil filter, so does WIX. Bosch is good too, if you can find them.

i was getting some knock on startup and tried all different kinds of oil and filter combos and have finally settled on royal purple 5w30 with k&n filter, expensive as hell, but im not getting any knocking

I used WIX with mine and with 15,000 mile oil I really don't feel the need to change it at 3000k miles but hey if you own oil stocks then go for it.
We tore the engine down there wasn't one single sign of abnormal wear and that was with 10,000 mile Mobil 1 intervals using 15,000 mile Mobil 1 oil.
I use stock Mazda filters now (although a larger model) and for the next few changes I will go about 6000 miles until I get some miles on the engine.
I drive the majority of the time at about 60MPH on the highway to work and back home so I feel quite safe.
Now when I tune it, that is, when I pull it out on the park road and pummel it while we use the MPI and the laptop I make sure to check the oil as it (at this point) does use some during extreme use. I also keep 2 quarts of oil in the trunk just in case I need to add any. But by an large it does not use any oil under normal circumstances.

And I am far from stock boost, heck I put the MBC on at 2000 miles back in March 03 and ran high boost with tons of mods for the entire 120,000 miles and never changed from Mobil 1 nor did I shorten the oil change intervals. If you use s*** oil and s*** filters and stop and go a lot then sure change it at 3000k miles but if you don't then why waste the money?

I wasn't speaking of that specific oil weight (0w30 fully synth) , i used 10w30 regular on my previous car(a4) n/a and it made it worst.
I just don't turst/like Castrol in general thats all.

I learned my lesson so i use mobil 1 10w30 fully synth since then.
I don't abuse it/MSP as much but i have my fun w/ it (glare).

Another oil to consider is Lucas Oil, it seems to have very high rep's.
Infact I'm gonna use Lucas Oil brand for tranny oil.

Mobil 1 10-30 from the start and she sees 6500-6900 rpms at 10-12 psi almost daily (not constantly). One thing I do is change it every 2000-2500 miles regardles also with a Fram Tough guard filter, and she is holding up just fine.

mobil 1 5w-30 cheapest place to get it is wal*mart and as far as filter all i use is the k&n yeah they are expensive but they have a 1" nut on the end that makes oil changes an f-ing breeze.
