Ok, someone tell me their car does this so I can rest easy.
When cold, the motor knocks when under acceleration up to about 3k rpm. It sounds a lot like a rod knocking, not really loud but noticeable. But after a few minutes after the motor heats up, it disappears. Is this normal? And I'm not talking about the "sewing machine" ticking that most DOHC four cylinder motors make, or detonation, this is definitely a knock that sounds like it's coming from the bottom of the motor.
And also, is there a way to stop the car from "chirping" every time I lock and unlock the car? I really don't need an audible confirmation of the horn chirping, it's annoying and I could do without it.
