Hello everyone, I'm new to these forums and will soon be the proud owner of a Mazda 2. I'm sorry to add another "will these wheels fit?" thread to these forums, but I'm really a noob when it comes to wheels and could use some help from those who are more knowledgable.

This is what I'm thinking of getting for my future 2:

Wheels: Motegi Racing MR125, 16x7 +40mm
Tires: Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec, 205/50R16

Should these work well without rubbing or offset problems? I don't plan on slamming it, perhaps only H&R springs to lower it a bit. And will I need hub centric spacers?

Thanks in advance!

Larger picture of wheels just for fun.

Spacers? No. Unless you're trying to "flush" it out a little more, although as it stands, I'm assuming you're probably going to stick out somewhere like 5-10 mm further out than stock.
You're looking at a very safe, FWD friendly size/offset.

I should add that hubcentric rings are up to personal preference. Some people swear by them, some don't. Assuming you're getting them installed by a shop, go ahead and grab them, should only add a few bucks to the total, and you get piece of mind knowing it's on there squarely.

First of all, your car will handle fantastic with those tires.

Instead of 5-10mm further out, it's more like 15-20mm - With that being said, you still should not have rubbing issues.

sweet wheels i have the 15x7 +35's on mine i got a great deal..i wanted to keep my fuel economy and cant afford to loose any power i live in the side of a mountain so any loss is noticed big time..post some pics when installed

Cool wheels, that should work great it has a curved in spoke wich gives the illusion of a deep dish. Safest offset range on 7" wide is 35-45mm just depends how far in or out you like and 40 is dead nuts. I've sold a lot of Motegi in the past this one was popular. Allways do hub rings and you won't have to second guess 73-64.1. By the way if you want the wheel to (look) bigger than it is, get one that has spokes that finish at rim of wheel.
