Mazda P5?
Howdy, first time poster.
My current beater car died on me sadly, I loved that crappy car. Since repair is more than car is worth a buddy is hooking me up with a nice 03 P5 with 90k miles at I think a great price. Since I have never owned a Mazda before, when I go look at it tomorrow to decide. Anything I should look out for besides standard used car stuff?

Most likely will get it as long as it runs and drives fine as I need a car asap

Thanks.

Look for rust, but being as you are in oregon, you're probably okay. Check to see if the timing belt has been done, if not, 90k is when that should happen. Other than that, sounds solid.

Awesome. Thanks..Kinda excited to get this car cause it has the look I miss

No way! That's crazy. If its clean and accident free, that is rediculous. That almost makes me a bit suspicious. Hopefully that's just generosity from your friend.

Been a rough year for me so he helping me out

So Going to get it tomorrow. Checked it out today, its dirty needs a good wash, the grate has some paint peel but thats only place. no rust I could see. new timing belt and battery and the 90k miles is accurate. Interior dirty but man for 13years old those seats are in great shape!...Really excited

Pics either tonight or tomorrow after I give it a deep clean its been sitting for awhile so it full of grime and yucky on outside..but will clean up so nice. Probably both a before and after type of thing

Will have pictures tomorrow, was dark time I got home and this was the best..Runs and Drives great..love it on corners. Front End needs some bolts put in, as it was in a slow impact read ending someone, nothing really serious..all in all for a grand it was a great deal..
Interior is perfect, though it has mostly sat for last couple years, didn't smell.
First time in years I am excited to wash a car.. Then monday head off to DEQ and DMV.

need to get couple bolts to fully attach front and headlights.. but after a pressure wash to remove years of built up grime. It is lookin pretty nice

Looks nice; congrats! These are fun cars. I've had mine since its birth. 105,000 miles is the timing belt change interval and even that can be stretched a little. Check the forum for [several] posts about that subject. Regarding the few things that do go wrong with this car, the good news is that they are largely user-replaceable. Search the forum for headlight bulbs (dielectric grease!), door lock actuators, coils, and engine mounts (usually #2 and #3). You may wish to check and make sure the valve cover bolts can't be un/tightened merely with your fingers (seriously, that can occur). At around 100k miles, some of us, including me, experienced mild oil loss from that.

Thanks for the tips!!

I did also fully wash and wax it. This week taking it to my buddies shop to fix the front end, as it was in a low speed rear end and pushed the front 1/2in, we going to pull it out and it will be perfect..then soon as I find a job I can start taking it to next level

I like the silver, but once I get a job, figure it might get wrapped if I can find the right vinyl color/look , I got an idea I wanna do..
