Anyone out there put a moonroof in their Mp3??
I had heard somewhere that If I were to do that, I would have a problem perofrmance wise and may run the risk of bending my frame if I took a corner to hard. Is this true??? I hope not cause I really want to put a moon roof in my car.

The reason that there is no moonroof or sunroof whatever you want to call it is because

#1 it adds more weight

#2 more body flex

You jsut might want to be careful of where you get it done cause they can leak and that becomes a serious pain after awhile.

Your frame will not bend cause of this... just flex a little... meaning your handling might be slgihtly affected, you probably won't notice it at all....

as jc said, if you get a moonroof, make sure they KNOW HOPW TO DO IT RIGHT! if it leaks, youll be pissed, if you corner hard, and it shatters, youll be pissed...etc.

I actually called a mazda dealership around me that say they would do it for 1000 and guarantee it for life against leaks and whatnot...haven't done it due to the cost, but it seems like a dealer with a guarantee would be a good route.

Dealers usualy have the best connections.... I would go to them if you are considering going through with the mod.

Got a sunroof installed from the dealership.........works just great

So far no shattering and no leaks...........(well there was this one leak...but it was due to the drainage for the sunroof being clogged. That's reasonable......can happen to any car...with a sunroof. I really haven't noticed any huge lack of handling due to the sunroof. Feels the same as when it did not have a sunroof. I drive my car pretty hard on the corners...hitting 25mph exit ramps at 60-68mph. I can't stand sitting in cars without a sunroof...feel cramped in it....So go ahead and install it.......you won't regret it ;)
