Quick background, my sister in-law over heated my car and ended up blowing up the radiator. i replaced the radiator to find out i now needed to do a head gasket as well. i then replaced the head gasket, head (i screwed up the stock one by forgetting to prime the oil pump), t-stat, timing belt, head bolts, valve gasket, intake gasket, plugs, wires, cleaned egr and probably other things as well.
my problem is that once i hit 3 psi it starts to stumble/misfire and falls flat on its face. i can force it to 6 psi but it feels like its going to explode! i also disconnected the wastegate actuator and plugged the line to see if maybe the actuator was sticking with no changes. it will also start to billow a lot of smoke. i can creep the car up to 6,000 rpm if i keep it below 3 psi with no issues of hesitation which leads me to believe it is a partial turbo issue. i do have movement in all directions equally with the turbo shaft (maybe 6-10 thousandths). i did a compression check because it will also smoke during non-boost conditions. my numbers were around 30-60 psi which is to low for the car to even run. i have not had a chance to get another compression tool yet to get an accurate reading. i know i am burning oil which leads me to 2 possible things, bad piston rings? and maybe turbo ready to crap out? that is the direction i am going with this, does anyone have any other (less expensive) ideas? i also plan on doing a leak down test whenever i get a chance.
