Acetone = badass! Not only there are fuel savings but the car runs better as well. The little hesitation I had is GONE for good! :) That beats an expensive fuel management system that would be needed for similar results. The car now runs so smooth, it hardly backfires at all, has very little soot on the exhaust pipe and all the power is still there (maybe even more). And, as emissions are lower (sun) (thanks to flat_black's report), what more can you ask!!? I'm on my second tank and so far, so cool!
Oh, I forget to mention that it costs me only 2 (Canadian) per liter :D
will this work on turbocharged mazda you think as far as harm compents?

i dont think that there is anything else that is different in the turbo and i am trying it on my car. i think a few others msp's and turbo proteges are too

I have a turbocharged MSP, it's the same 2.0L engine as all 3rd gen Protegs. No problems at all. I've checked my plugs after 300 Mi and they are A-1

it says to start gradually right? about 1.5 ounces per 12 gallons AFTER the tank is filled... is that about what you guys did?

(werd) this is truly fascinating stuff. threads like this is what makes this forum awesome.

Well, I joined the MPG club last night and added 2.25 oz acetone to a full tank. I'm going to drive like I normally do and see what kind of fuel economy I get. I started off with a low percentage like that article said. I'm at 0.15% acetone which is a little lower than what other people are trying. Next tank I'll probably use 4 oz.

i think i will try this also, i work with acetone all day at work and can get it at any time and as much as i want.

where is everyone buying it from, i'm having trouble locating 100% pure acetone.
the nail polish one has a perfume and stuff in it but says 100%

You can go to the paint department of any hradware store and buy pure acetone. It won't come in a handy bottle, but you can pour it into one. You need to measure it out anyways, so you'll have to pour it into a smaller container of some sort.

Hey guys, not to kill the idea, but I work at a truck rental company, spoke to one of my techs who does a lot of side work on cars and he said while yes you will get a cleaner, better burning fuel, he also said the acetone will burn the oil off your cyclinders quicker as they go up and down and you could blow the cyclinders, so use it sparringly.
