Minor disappointment

I've run into the same hiccup many times, and it is slightly aggravating. But, since I've learned, I just start the process off by tilting the front seat backs forward. Once the head rests clear the upper part of the seat backs, both front seats can be re-positioned. However, the flip side is, you've got the reverse the process, once you're ready to flip the rear seats back up! Grrrr

There was a thread about this where the poster was able to have other another country's headrest shipped to them. Since I often fold the seats, I've simply removed the rear headrests and put them back in if I expect someone to sit back there.

I noticed the new 3 uses the flat style headrest in the back - maybe they would fit?

They do. I tried them on briefly in a dealership a couple of weeks ago and while I can't swear they were a perfect fit, the one I tried looked close enough! Problem is, Mazda has not provided dealers with part numbers yet for these headrests, so they have no pricing info and apparently cannot order them.

I thought that the reason for the headrests we have in the states was a DOT requirement. I agree Mazda should have foreseen the issue, but it's a fairly minor issue.

Unless you regularly have adult passengers in the rear seats just remove the headrests altogether and enjoy the unimpeded view out the rear window. I put them back in when necessary but leave them out the rest of the time.
