mgm w/ gold brake calipers

was bored today. not bored enough to turn one of my wife's dresses into a shfiter boot, but bored none the less.

so i painted my calipers w/ the g2 kit off ebay. nothing against red, but i didn't want red. think the gold works w/ mgm and the stock wheels.

looks good, would look sick on a white or a black mica with black rims...great job.. how much was the kit and how long did it take?

thanks. i was thinking about powder coating / painting my stocker wheels black but think i'll leave them alone (rims match my front and back wing badges). the gold seems to pop enough w/ the silver rims. too cheap to buy new rims at this point.

g2 kit is on ebay for $38. took 2 hrs and you have to let the paint sit for 24 hrs (wheels can go back on 2 hrs after the last coat). you'll need masking tape, an extra can of brake cleaner, at least 2 jack stands and a jack. i used my scissor jack for the 4th wheel. rotated the tires too.

i put on 4 coats and you'll have plenty of paint left over.

warning - you may get a slight buzz (good) and sore throat (bad) from the fumes.

yeah, it would look better w/ your rx-8 wheels but i like how it's subtle. maybe someday i'll get new wheels.

this was pretty easy on the difficulty scale. think 40 year old virgin when he's changing the toy soldier pant paint.
