Has anyone made any purchases or dealings- bad or good with Cook Mazda imports of Farmington Hills?.

The tech manager is really cool in the Mazda section, but some of the techs are cocky, condecending, and seem like they are ******* with you (like most techs do). Once they found out that I know more about cars than your average person, they weren't so bad.
Now, my friend who has had his Spec-V engine replaced twice doesn't feel the same way about the tech dept. Both blown engines were caused by problems that the early Spec-V's had (bad rings and the cat was too close to the exhaust manifold and melted, causing fragments to get sucked back into the engine). He would go through oil like crazy (quart a day) and told them how much he had to put in just to get it to the dealership. The car would also let out a HUGE cloud of black smoke if he got on it at all. They told him that it's normal to burn a little oil (WTF?! QUART A DAY). They never even tried to do an oil consumption test. He dropped it off twice with the same reason, and both times they told him it was fine and that he was putting too much oil in. The last time it was brought in was on a trailer because the engine seized and the oil stick was bone dry. After calling corporate, they finally realized that there WAS a problem, and he got a new engine. The second time was just a total rebuild because of the cat fragments in the cylindars and a melted converter.
