Metra dash kit 99-7507 in '07 maz6i - connector from factory radio??

Hi all,
I installed my kit today and ran into some trouble. According to the instructions: "Plug the 16 way connector that you
removed from the factory radio into location 2 on the back of the
99-7507 housing (see diagram)." The only connector i found on the radio was on the OTHER side of the factory radio (as per the diagram in the instructions) and will not fit in the location provided in the aftermarket kit. Also, all connectors seem to have been used that were coming out of the dash? Sorry if this is at all unclear. Anyone have any ideas?? Everything works except for the display above the dash kit. It still displays time, but not temperature and i cannot customize it. I realize thats what this "connector" is for, but am at a loss for why it doesnt fit and if it did, where would the other end connect.

The car is manual climate control and not Bose btw.

figured it out and got everything working... apparently "Plug the 16 way connector that you
removed from the factory radio into location 2 on the back of the
99-7507 housing (see diagram)." should be followed by ONLY IN AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROL VEHICLES in the installation guide... It is not used in manual climate control vehicles. Problem was i didnt find and plug in the 2 way connector into "location 4" from the harness they supplied. just figured i'd follow up, in case anyone else is seeing this problem.
