hey guys we are talking about merging the newengland area into two forums for increased activity and a more personable feel (more people meeting and what not) anyways... how do you guys feel about merging into the southern new england forum where it would me mass, conn, and the island?

Honestly, there are so few people in the northern NE states you might as well just make a single New England Forum. Its not like the Maine Protege owners are chatting it up and need their own section. I really only check this section so that I can refer people to the NEPOC section where all the action is.

Sure!!! Welcome to the forum! Most of the New Englanders hang out in the NEPOC subforum. (New England Protege Owners Club). Don't be scared off by the name, we've got plenty of RX8, Mazda6, and even some non-Mazda members. We've got tons of events planned for this summer so check out the sticky threads in the NEPOC section for a schedule.

haha nice. Yeah, way back in the day they talked about just having a New England subforum.. but then, what would be the difference between that and the NEPOC subforum? Yes, I understand, you can't just have the NEPOC subforum because not everyone wants to be a part of NEPOC.. not that we charge for membership or anything haha. The New England section would basically just have "hey, I saw a yellow MP3 on 91S north of Hartford today"-type posts, and any meets or anything would all be planned in the NEPOC subforum.

I do think it's bad that some people probably join the site, see that their local subforum is really, horribly inactive, and think there's no local Mazda community for them.

Wow....you know what? I don't think I've ever looked at the other forums for the NE area. I go straight into NEPOC.

In all seriousness; i think that NH, ME, and VT do need another group cause we are really far from the rest of NE and we dont get a chance to hang out with all you cool nepoc people (and by we, i mean I).
We would still have members referred to NEPOC for events and what not; but I am trying to spur some morelocal traffic here in VT at least and having an active local forum would help

I didn't know you felt that way Sure, if you think you can drum up more northern members by having your own section by all means make two sections.

well, my original idea didnt involve creating 2 sections; i just wanted to get VT moderator status and get some marketing (fluers, stickers, whatever) from antoine to spread the word around.
I have recently seen a lot more new generation Mazdas around town and i would like to get them involved; since i feel pretty lonely here.
When i joined this forum there was no mz3s or mz6s around; a couple of miatas and 1 or 2 rx8s. Now i see them everywhere and it would be cool to have a small group here to hang out and meet.
I would love to be closer to you NEPOC guys as i always check out your meets and events and look like fun but i am 25 miles from the canadian order; it is a minimum of 3 hour drive to wherever you guys meet.

Someone then suggested the 3 northern most sections are just as desolate as VT and should be grouped to try to increase numbers; not as a way to separate it fom the rest of NE.
