yeah, I guess its a blessing and a curse... atleast the rod didn't go and punch a hole in the block... or did the piston scarr the hell out of the cylinder? I guess it is forged time either way.

Yeah, I lost my ords a couple days ago and found them under the swing set. Dang dog takes everything!

It was a complete shock.During the run my AF was 10.2 and I had 8 degrees of timing pulled in the 3800-4800RPM range and 10 at 6000RPM.During the run I heard Detenation and lifted(4400 RPMS)..It was to late.
The good news is the power it was starting to make.IMO, I feel I would have seen 240-245whp at 10-11psi.

That sucks man! -8 degrees of timing seems a like a little too much timing for that level. Kooldino has in the mid teens of timing retard at higher PSI. Not sure if he still has the MP3 ECU in there, but he has more out to be safe. I know on mine, I have -6 in the midrange at only 8psi, and that was determined to be safe by Little Beavis' J&S. Time to get one to keep that detonation away. That s*** can still be there even if ya don't hear it. Good luck with your build, can't wait to see more high HP pro's.
 
not to thread jack but real quick. Will the J&S work in conjunction with the MPI? Seems like the MPI lets you set the timing retard and the J&S might override the setting depending... Am I right?
 
it took about 20 hours to pull the motor/trans, disassemble/inspect JY motor, place accessories on new motor and install motor and trans.I have the boost at 7psi.
 
his motor is rebuilt, and the turbo kit IC pipes have been redesigned- the IC pipe from the air intake looks a bit like the hiboost- on top and across. He is working very hard, and hasn't spent too much time on here. If you have any questions, PM me or ask me. The kit is looking very good, and we are looking down the homestretch to getting the final testing and feedback underway. Its looking very promising! :)

We redesigned the turbo to intercooler pipe.The design is alot nicer.There will be pictures up tomorrow.Right now we are developing our Thumper turbo kit.Duane(ddogg77) will be posting pictures and answering questions for this kit.
 
uhmmm.... :) Well I probably see Beau more than anyone on here-since I'm local- so MAM is definately a sponsor of mine, and Beau a good friend...But techinally I don't have his *full* turbo kit. My turbo and manifold are differernt- but the FMIC, intake piping, and MPI are all there- so it's close..

I plan on upgrading my turbo to a GT series pretty soon which may involve the need of a new manifold and of course Beau wil be a part of it. But befoer that I may actaully do some internal work to handle the extra HP.
