megan cat back exhaust

I haven't heard anything about it really. But I've seen it alot on ebay. Sounds like it would be pretty good, but then again, I haven't gotten my CAI I ordered almost a month ago. Get it and tell me wether it's worth the money or not :D

im getting a 3" pipe that replaces the j pipe and cat. Its an Apex downpipe. So i think im going to end up going 3" all the way to a Supertrapp muffler.

I know of two people on my other forum who have it and are very happy with it...
I've never read anything bad about it at all.

Rock on, I'll probabley invest after I get my OBX headers....some day when I'm rich. heh, it sux to do school and work. Cuts alot of my hours out. Which equals less $$

Andy uses a megan exhaust?!? They make their own headers and downpipes, etc. but he uses an eBay catback? :wtf:

That megan looks ok, but its not a Greddy or Apex or anything. Hell the ones I seen on ebay were only $150

Sorry I made a mistake| He makes his own cat back with the Megan racing muffler.

Just don't get it. Someone told me that the Megan cat exhaust doesn't really fix exactly. U have to custom it a little.

What dont you get? They dont fit right.
Ive heard the same. They are not properly made to our cars and the tip touches the bumper, causing it to melt. Thats what I've heard.

Well, at four inches, there's no shock about that. =)

For that matter, I think what he was saying was: "Just don't buy it." At least, that's what I figure.

ya, I'm trying to get a quote from GHL about a bare 3" to hook into the 3" Apex downpipe I bought, then to a Supertrapp.
No answer yet.......

Whats the deal with the Supertrapp silencer?

Ever heard one? They sound great. Deep, ..... I dont know how to describe it. Plus they look bad ass. I know a guy who has duals on a '79 celica. Sounded awesome.

are the supertraps, "dual"

Im not too fond of dual exaust, The 3 or 4 inch tip has the look I like!

why not custom make it?

I thought about it, but I'm not that good at welding stainless. Would prefer to just buy the cat back and add my muffler.

I can talk a guy who works for me to weld on a muffler, would be a little harder to get him to do the whole thing.

Do you know what a supertrapp looks like? No, they are not duals. I will find a picture of one and post it asap.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, yes. Kirkers of the auto world. I took a set of those off of an Yamaha FZ750 bike... They sounded like s*** on the bike, but on cars, they can be pretty nice, though I've heard them sound bad, too, in the case of a Super Seven race replica. I think it had a B16A or something similarly honda in it. Very buzzy, but I think it was mostly the engine.

The Protege's engine is nice and gutteral sounding, in comparison, though. Even without a resonator, the FS engine isn't buzzy, but nice and lumpy like a Subaru boxer. Hehe.

Sorry for the rambling. =) I would say go custom, too, if you can find someone to help you weld up the stainless.
