Mazdaspeed6 K&N filter fits in CX-7

Just the air filter.. I don't think it will make any difference to the horse.

I suggest you get a whole cold air intake system made by CP-E.

I have a friend with mazda6 and he got his from cpe it was $600 and he love it. Our's is only 200 something. just go visit their website. www.cp-e.com

Does the cold air intake make the gas mileage worse or will it remain the same?? Would love to hear the sound of it!!

going to look into the speed 6 filter thanks......since the country is cooling down, you guyz noticing any h.p. increase? I beliee I am! It seems a bit crisper off the line and as shes pulling and seem to backing off the gas once im going throughtthe gears.(glare)

A/C is running less, or you can turn it completely off. Makes a big gas mileage difference too.

Although the 'puter cuts the a/c under heavy load, it still runs under moderate acceleration. Cutting it off completely does add significant ponies to the ground, though I'm not sure how many.

A/C compressor draws about 5 hp when outside temps are high (full load)
As outside temperatures decline, the system operating pressures and hense the power to run the compressor drops to about 3 hp.

Someone help me with my question...pretty please or did you just answer it...I was not sure?

Been getting about 18-22 MPG with the AEM intake....depending how much I drive it. Gets better gas mileage when the wife drives it.:)

After very strict mileage calculations and 3,483 miles, I averaged 19.69 mpg. I just took a 2600 mile trip to Montana, and on the highway I would cruise at a GPS speed of 78mph. bad MPG if you ask me.

is your mileage NOW 3483? or is it that plus 2600? Was that MPG average a total to date, or ur MPG of ur highway miles of the trip? cuz if its 19.8 on the highway that doesnt sound right.

I said it in another post, the engine seems to break in at the 3k+ mark. my mpg certainly went a few MPG higher at 3k

Here's what I got so far. The 3483 includes the 2600 mile road trip. Dates where I filled up more than once, I just went sequential so my XY graph isn't AFU. I see ~2mpg increase after 3k miles. That could have been anything, temperature, elevation (7000 feet at times on the trip). Only time will tell...

Barely making 300 miles before the light comes on is heartbreaking coming from a car that did 500+ miles on 13 gallons :(

300 miles is better than what im getting, the best i got was 275

you can see the best I got was 327, and that's with the gas light on for 15 miles or so. highway only on that tank.

One thing I have noticed is that the pump stops putting gas in the CX7 tank well before it is completely full. Yesterday, just as a test, I kept slowly putting gas into my 7 after the pump had tripped from the main filling. To my amazement I was able to get an additional 2.5 gallons in the tank before it was completely full and topped off. That should give me an additional 40 miles or so on a tank based on my current mileage.

Not something I would do regularly but I was just curious. Seems like this is the case with a lot of newer vehicles or maybe it is the gas pumps that have changed. Not sure...

Why do you suppose the pump shuts off with that much room left in the tank? It certainly reduces the range of the vehicle...

I've noticed at shell if you don't jam the pump all the way into the filler neck but leave it out just a tad it pumps it all the way out. Its goofy but my friend with a 07 Mustang GT can only pump her gas at BP due to there pumps have a new design she tried everywhere and it would take forever to pump as it kept stopping Ford even told her to use BP only and it solved the issue. I think these mom/pop and indian gas station need to upgrade there pumps for the late model cars. We have way to many emissions on these cars causing way too many issues thanks to the tree huggers.

Interesting! And it kind of sucks if you ask me.
