I get to pick mine up tomorrow most likely, so I will post something up then. I talked with the Service advisor and he said this is the 2nd one they have done. First one took 1.5 days to get done. He also said things went pretty good....but should go better now that they have one out of the way. The person who owned the car was really pleased though, he told me.

Where are you getting yours done Ryan? Walser in Burnsville?

Well....I just got mine back :)

For those of you being denied for 12K, that is wrong. When I asked about it they said it should be the whole factory warranty. I have 19K on mine and they did the work no questions asked.

Now, the review. The clutch is very nice, more like the other manuals I have driven in my life. I found it to be a little softer than I'd like...but that could be just because I was use to the high and hard engagement before. I do really like it though, I would recommend it to anyone who is in limbo over getting it. I have not tried any hard launches, so I don't know the difference there yet, I am gonna give it a few days to break in.
Mine was the 2nd MS6 they had done.

After the first one they said they had to do an alignment. So when I picked mine up I asked if they had to do one. They said no. While leaving the lot, I noticed the car drives straight, but the steering wheel is cocked to the left about 1 inch. So, I called and they are gonna do an alignment first thing in the morning. So, make sure if you bring your car in, to ask them to make sure it is aligned correct when done.

Any idea why this would be off?

Anywho, let me know if you have any quesitons.
Thanks,
Ryan

Hmm...I think I'll wait until I install my springs before I take it in. That way I won't have to pay for the alignment.

That is a good idea....but they might say the springs are the problem too. It's probably worth the shot though.

My clutch has a high engagement point because I installed aftermarket springs and wheels....riiiighhht

...but it wouldn't surprise me if they tried to tell me that. So far my dealership has been good to me. They know my face and know I've been taking my Protege5 there for years.

LOL...no, not the clutch silly. The alignment afterwards is what I ment :p

Well just got home from dropping my car off, no hassles at all from them. My rental car.....Chevy Aveo(jerkit) . I almost got blown off the road coming home in it. They said it should be down by Wednesday but possibly late tomorrow.

Dropped my car off yesterday. I was told an alignment was part of service with TSB. Also, did anyone need their ecu reset for this service? dealership is telling me they needed the key fob to reset the ecu.

Well I'm getting mine done.

After reading this post I went by my local Mazda dealership (Sansone Auto Mall in Rahway, NJ) and asked about it. He found the TSB and said he would need to see the car. I was just about due for my 10K service, so I had it done at the same time. I came back the next day for the service, and told them about the TSB and the fact that I don't like the clutch engagement.

When I got my car back I looked at the receipt and in response to my complaint they had written: "Clutch is wear in, and is normal at this time". 'Wear in' at 10K miles...right. Anyway, I complained and talked to the technician about it.

He tried to tell me that the clutch is comparable to STI's and EVO's and that this is a sports car not a Honda Civic. I told him that I got rid of my 400 RWHP Mustang because I wanted something more civilized that still had some pep, and that I drive the car every day.

They agreed to do the service, I'm just waiting on parts to come in. My car falls into the 'A' category, so I'm getting a new clutch and pedal...I hope I'm doing the right thing. The clutch is definitely a pain in the ass, but I'm nervous about them dropping the engine out of my car when it has less than 10K on it. (nailbyt)

The one thing they did tell me though was that they would not do it if the car crossed 12K miles, as then it becomes a wear item. I know that was mentioned previously, and I'm not sure how true it is, but to avoid complication if you're driving around with 11K on the clock and you want this done, I wouldn't wait.

I dropped mine off with 13K. When i informed dealership of problems and stated that I wanted the clutch replaced I had little over 12K. I told them that once they got the parts in I would drop off car. Either that or I bring car in now and they pay for rental the entire time my car is waitng there for parts. Long story short. They're gonna replace my clutch.

Just got a call from O'Hara Mazda....the service advisor told me my car is above the 12k miles and i have to pay USD 80 to diagnose the problem and potentially USD1k to replace the clutch. I asked him if my car is found to be eligible for any available warranty coverage (I did not mention TSB at first), would i get my 80 bucks back...he said no and he's sure i can't get the TSB, if there is (seems he knows i'm refering to the TSB), cause my car has more than 12k miles.. ) (screwy)

I told them my clutch is difficult to drive, rough shift from 1 to 2 and it's making loud mechanical sound, which it actually does...he basically told me there's no use to make an appointment to check my clutch cause i have to pay for everything...even to bring it in

Dammit..rejected by 3 dealerships so far.... (bang)

that sucks....... keep going around and try to pressure on the next dealer if they deny you that the TSB is outside the 12k warranty because the clutch was faulty from FACTORY......

Got my car back today. All I can say is wow!(drive2) This car feels so much better now. The engagement is nice and low and just feels right. I am glad I got this done for sure.
