mazdaspeed3 scrapped?

Well I was at my dealer today and got to talkign with one of the sales representatives. And well we got to talking about the mazda lineup and future lineup and mazdaspeed. Well he told me the mazdaspeed6 should be at the dealer sometime in augest. But then I asked him about the mazdaspeed3 and said id prefer to have that, should be mad elighter and making good power and smaller sportier car, and well much to my distaste he said that the project has been scraped. He said that since the mazda 3 has been selling so well that they have decided to scrap the project all together since there are nice sales figures. (hand) (omg) Well I dont mean to bash or step on anyones toes but I just want to report what I have been told. I hope they didnt scrap it since a turbo mz3 would be nice! I was hoping to possibly getting this as a next car in the future but i guess not which sucks...just throwing this out there....

Besides, we have seen prototype pics of a "speed" 3. I highly doubt they would 'scrap' it. He probably told you that to get you into a MS 6.

the 3 has been selling well from day 1. If they would scrap plans for it simply for that reason they would have never began development for the mazdaspeed3. I wouldnt believe that guy

from all the hubub in the car mags autoweek and c&d just to name a few... i doubt they will scrap that progect sales of the 3 are so well why not try to get into the wrx/evo/s40/rsx market with a great car with a speed version??? he is full of crap and i bet that guy was just tryin to get a sale now and not in 1.5-2 years when the speed3 debuts....btw did anyone notice that of the next 20 must have cars in last months C&D the mazdaspeed 3 was listed!!! the car is well into development. bad sales tactic along the lines of the one my buddy was given at the dodge dealer last week.

now thats some funny shiat... how about the car is a neon, and yes it goes like a ***** ape... (where the hell did that expression ever come from anyways) but its still a neon, so it will break, and things will go wrong, possibly more so b/c of all the performance enhancements the car has....

personally i prefer buying over leasing. long term, buying is just wiser. if you can, look for leftover inventory (04s or early 05s) there is alot of holdback cash the dealer has to play with that you can knock off the sticker price and get a better deal on.

As far as what you might have to be concerned about, just have a look through the forum. You'll find at least one thread with somebody bitching about just about everything that has ever gone wrong with any 3. (ugh)

You cant complain about a 7/70,000 warranty... especially when it covers the stage 2 upgrade and possibly the stage 3... but i'm not sure on the 3
