it is if a striaght cut wont hold it i dont know wat will, striaght cut held my wrx, but i wasnt over 500 whp...actually if you have been to the shop i am the one who painted the wall
ill i have to say is you guys are assholes! let him do what he wants! its his ****** money! look at all the poeple who threw s*** loads of money into a car that cant even handle anymore that 450 horsepower safely on even a built tranny!(msp) i have thousands of dollars invested in my msp and earned every bit i put into the damn thing! and its still slow as **** compared to the ms3! who are you guys to tell him he didnt earn that money to mod his car! if ur not interested in his build or u just wanna bash it stay outa his thread! nuff said!

no one here is putting him down for the money deal, but he came in here tooting his own horn, wtf who doesnt release stuff to the publice. makes him sound like an ass. plus everyone on here is an enthusiast so there cars are there projects, so for this kid to come in and say 1st off the cars are pos is putting down everyone that bought this car and cant afford to mod them. 2nd off a lot of us have tons of plans for our car, but you dont see me posting how I am going to do all this stuff. If he does what he says he is going to do then more power to him, he can just come at it a different way.
and btw if u have a car pushing 500+ whp stuff is going to break u moron. show me a bullt drag car that doesnt break?!?!? especially drivetrain failure.
i didnt mean it to sound like im tooting my horn, i didnt wanna release exact plans because if it doesnt work out then i make everything involved look like a fool, so i was gonna throw all that s*** on after i knew it was running how i wanted it to. and i said mine was cause all little s*** kept going bad and dealership wouldnt cover any of it so im going back and redoing the whole damn thing. i didnt meant o knock the speed3 or make it seem like i was.. tooting my horn. i know its gonna caost me a s*** load and it might not be worth it cause of traction issues and what not, but its my goal and i wanted to post my goal, 1 to get people on here to ask about it and give opinions, positive ones really, 2 to show everyone when it was done exactly what i did. it might be a waste of money but it might be so worth it, thats the gamble im willing to take, you only live once so im gonna go big, i didnt mean to come off as a snob about it or anyhting
thats the problem with forums, tone is never interpreted and then this happens. I think if thats your goal and you have the means to do it go for it. Like with any built car your going to have different issues but if you have the cash to do it you should have cash to fix it so hopefully it works out for you. Are you going to do the build over winter?

Exactly. Sounds like you are new to the game, and there's a lot about these cars that is still unknown. I came from a Protege where everyone had most everything figured out and you could run a bunch of different setups, but with the MS6/MS3, it's not so simple.
The initial post just pissed me off that you came in spouting off. The tone was misread in the posts. Coming in saying you'll beat things isn't going to do anything. If you start this build and you learn and show people what you find out, you'll gain loads more respect than just coming in saying things. Pictures speak a thousand words, especially when people don't know you. Being a MI guy, I'm hoping to see this build in some form. BTW, hit up the MI section of the forums and see whats going on there.
arihgt, my apologies, i didnt wanna siund like im gonna have the best mazda blah blah, i was just simply saying what i was planning on doing and adding the zo6 thing in for laughs, and another reason i wanted to keep it on the down low is because speedindustry didnt really want there s*** public that they dont know will work out perfectly, which is respectible, thats another reason why. but its pretty much the same set up that the evil monkey guy did, and as soon as i get a price from SI im gonna set up a time for end of winter/beginning spring when my second class term begins for kettering. as soon as it begins ill have them take pics and ill be there as much as possible taking pics, and they will be up. so agian im sorry for making myself look like an ass and it came off completely wrong, and ill start a new thread as soon as this project goes underway.
"Thruway racing" eh? Is that SCCA or NASA sanctioned? ...I can't seem to find the class rules anywhere on their websites. (uhm)
If you really wanted to help the community out, you'd share everything you're working on, especially things that fail, since trying and failing is usually the very best (albeit expensive) way to learn.
For example, I recently learned that the stamped steel WRX LCA's can come apart catastrophically:

Yeah.. I was this >< close to pulling the trigger on a MS3, but I just couldn't justify a new car considering I just bought a house and the economy's decision to take a nose dive.
It's a lot cheaper to just keep the paid-for SVX running than to pony up for a $25k car, no matter how bad-ass they are out of the box. Plus, the race car seems to cost me just as much in maintenance as the MS3 would in payments. :mad:
