mazdaspeed paint job ideas plzz

because were trying to offer advice, and information.

a college student in this day in age doesnt really have 4k to throw around on a quality paint job, and also fully rebuild an engine... i would know... as i am a college student

it doesn't matter if he's cocky. it doesn't matter if he's stubborn. did he ask anyone whether or not he was cocky or stubborn? no. stay out of the thread if you don't feel like contributing. thats why this forum sucks.

it's his money. if he has his mind set on painting his car, he's gonna do it.

i wouldn't necessarily agree. some people have money saved. not me. i'm in debt, but some people do.

and you might as well be in debt while you're young rather than save 50k for when you're 50 and you want a Z06. then you die on your 50th birthday and don't get s***.

how am i cocky because i want to paint my car? sorry i dont like just straight metallic black? sorry i want something different, something original... i didnt know that was being cocky. i guess i wont do anything to my car at all, ill return it to completely stock. then i wont be original and i wont be cocky.

anyone got a cold air intake on ur car? thats being original, whyd you ruin it! you guys are cocky with your cold air intakes.

contributing doesnt necessarily mean i have to sit here and agree with him, or tell +1 everyone elses opinions.

i gave my opinion, that was my contribution. He says hes not happy with his finish, i gave him an option other than dropping several grand on a paint job. i fail to see how that isnt contributing...

I was under the impression you werent happy with it because of the swirls/scratches/dents ect, not because of the color.

Im not telling you to do one thing or the other, im just saying you have other options to have a better finish. (which i was under the impression you wanted)

well mazdas paint is awful imo (I could care less about whether its uniform across other manf's) you'll have plenty of chips if you wait long enough or drive it a lot esp highways... point being then its a good plan... i'd like to do mine at some point at the rate my chips are going

the smallest rocks chip my paint, but i wasnt complaining about the paint job, im saying that as of right now mines a piece of s*** becuase theres so many chips and little dents, and istead of paying the moeny to get different parts of the car repainted i might as well do some custom paint job and spend the extra money because 1. itll be new and differnet. 2. itll take out all the little blemishes, i dont have swirls or anyhting because i dont use a household buffer, normal wax takes out any natural swirls, its just chips and scratches and dents everywhere cause of where its parked

wrong. wax does not remove swirls. some waxes will hide light swirls and marring because of the fillers they have.

swirls are caused by improper washing/drying techniques as well as improper washing and drying products.

by all means if you want a new paint job, get one. Personally i think a matte finish looks like a primered finish. but thats just me, dull paint doesnt appeal to me. However is it different and original? yes.

the paint id be getting is satin black with a shine finish.. and id be paint the door pillars gloss black to match the tints and wheels, itd be almost like a two tone in a way...

heres satin black, its not as dull as matte/primer, but its not too shiny, its like a stealth look almost.

i think i know the finish your talking about, but no i dont see the pics.

actually i think a satin finish, with a slight gloss would look alright, although im not sold on the door pillars being pure gloss...

any photoshop pics?

itd be the same satin, the whole car would be satin cept for the windows would be gloss black, pillars and trim around thewindows gloss black, and rims gloss black

idk how to use photoshop.. haha quick walkthrough if you could

i dont have photoshop either.

maybe a black mica owner who has PS will see this and be cool enough to PS for you.

iv al;ways wanted to know how to do that s***, haha but i even got the approval of an american muscle custom car paint shop and they said it would look badass, like a stealth bomber type... the shiny black looks good, but the satin looks bad ass i think, idk.
