Mazdaspeed members?

Is anyone here a Mazdaspeed member? I registered on their site but they emailed me and said they won't sell me any competition parts (not stock parts- I'm not trying to order any of those from them) unless I send them proof of being a member of a racing club, pictures of my car being converted to a racer, etc.

If anyone here is a member, would you be willing to order parts from them for me?

Thanks,
Bill

negative...you see, only members can order parts for ONLY THEIR VEHICLE, thus faulting the plan.

you can still order parts, you just don't get the at cost

I'm not trying to get the "at cost". I'm just trying to get the parts. That's why I'm asking if anyone is able to order parts from Mazdaspeed- I'm not able to.

Is anyone here a member?

Thanks,
Bill

By my understanding Bill, even if one is a member, the only way to order some(all??) parts for the MazdaSpeed vehicles is if they return the old part when they get the new one. Thus there is always a 1:1 ratio of parts out there. I guess they want to keep the MazdaSpeed stuff exclusive to specific MazdaSpeed cars only. :(

he's talking about the team support program blue, not the parts for the ms vehicles. i dont understand why one wouldnt be able to order any mazdaspeed parts though...if mazdamotorsports wont sell them to you,m try corksport

I just talked to them the other day. You can order anything but stock parts if you're not a member. You should be able to order any competition parts you want. Have you called and asked them? It sounds like either you or they might be confused.

Yeah, the competition program is set up so that peope who race can buy stock, OEM AND competition parts at a discounted price. But the requirements are very strict. They're even strict about the types of items you are purchasing based on the type of racing you do. for instance this line in the Team Support regulations, "Accessories and air conditioning components may not be purchased. Autocross/Solo 2 and Drag Racing competitors may not purchase body parts or interior trim parts."
I know that my participation in the program has been very valuable and the people who help you on the phone are super helpful as well. I value the program so much that I wouldn't stake my participation in it. But, you can easily get an SCCA or NASA membership and then apply saying that you are prepping the car for competition. I think they would work with you on that. I think the message is that they are looking to support racers who race in sanctioned races not just street races or everyday drivers. Plus, they want their product to be advertised in front of those people who would be interested in their products the most, the race-going public. BTW, if you are just looking for a quick, cheap membership NASA will be the quickest and cheapest at $35 and you can get it off of their web site at www.nasaproracing.com. But I encourage everyone who is a sports car enthusiast to join the SCCA. Both are great organizations that are keeping the whole sports car and racing world alive in this country.
