I don't care what they said to you, if you hydrolock your car, they aren't going to cover the damage under warranty. If you think otherwise, then get it in writing in some way because it ain't gonna happen.

If you do hydrolock, that's an insurance issue. They will pay for it. I've seen 2 done in our shop recently. And they both were on totally uglied out stickered and riced out POS cars.

I have the Mscai. It ran great. Dealer installed before delivery. Later on I had the car serviced, and made my writer aware of all my bolt ons beyond Mazdaspeed parts. I have had warranty work done since then. I am sorry so many folks fear mazda. Before you bolt on, ask service writer if he has an opinion on performance goodies. Know where you stand. The Porsche guys got a kick out of revving my car up for everyone and I am sure they heard it in the showroom at full song. Maybe the intakes are causing emissions trouble, the cars are awful rich from factory!

Hi Guys,

I nticed the following when I install my MS CAI:
"POST INSTALLATION INSPECTION / CLEAN-UP
1. Inspect all connection points for proper fit.
- Rubber mount
- MAF sensor harness
- Throttle body coupler
2. Inspect the engine bay for any loose tools and check that all fasteners that were moved or
removed are properly tightened, including the wheel and fender liner. Reconnect battery terminals.
Start engine and perform a final inspection before driving the vehicle.
3. Wipe finger prints off of the intake pipe with soft cloth.
4. Return original intake and installation instructions to customer.
5. Note: Clean your filter every 20,000 miles per the instructions on the included filter cleaning
kit.
6. Caution: If you anticipate traversing deep water, remove this system and replace it with
the original equipment intake system. All warrantees are null and void if water is ingested
into the intake system."

So yeah, you hydrolock your car and Mazda ain't gonna cover it . . . I still love my MS CAI, regardless.

Strange that you ask my daughter's Civic si was parked at her work and it rained so fast and hard that water was midway up her door for a couple hours. Insurance totalled it. very sad. So flooding of the vehicle might be covered for others

Tea, if you handle the Hydrolock right from the start insurance will cover it. You need to pull over, call the police and make it an accident type report and call your insurance right away, flooding in the road, large pot hole now the car wont run... Whatever you can come up with and put it in their hands!
