Mazdaspeed brand FMIC?

interesting...

i wonder what the benefit to getting Mazdaspeed FMIC vs. Wagner or Hiboost, ION or any other vendor.....
My car should be ready to dyno test on Thursday hopefully... Then again who knows how long body shops take. (dunno)

Then again... I have a leaking down pipe. So I'm awaiting for a mazdaspeed D/P as well. Its suppose to be similar to the protosports one but it will have a bigger flex pipe and possibly moved foward so there are no issues. Hopefully by then i will be able to show you the gains.

BTW I don't know if you guys already know this but Mazdaspeed does offer a similar turbo kit to the the MSP's turbo. It's a partial turbo kit that you will need to buy a SIMC and all the piping or a FMIC.

Also after attending the SEMA show in LA this weekend they had a display of the MSP turbo manifold with a T-28 turbo. Who knows if they are going to be offering that. For the people that are going to protege fest we are trying to setup a pick up time for a 2.0L motor with the Mazdaspeed turbo kit and FMIC so you guys can see it for yourself.

whoa, mad crazy.

yeah the turbo kit is offered to the Mazda Motorsports participants, ive seen that before.

Yup its like a 3,000 dollar turbo kit

I have heard that they might bring in a ECU from japan for the msp. Don't know any information on that really. So please don't ask (everyone.. Sorry if it seems like im pointing figures at you) I think it might be a piggy back system.

ProPartsUSA-Do you have an, "idea" on the cost of this Mazdaspeed FMIC?

If MazdaSpeed does a SMIC or FMIC I would be all over it like stink on s***. ESP. a downpipe upgrade. Damn can't they see that we want support?!?!?

The Nismo parts will also void your warrenty -
Had a dealer tell me that ( unless you purchase your car with them already installed as dealer installed options- ) the way I was going to buy a Spec V - with the Nismo Cat-back and Intake already installed- anything not installed at the time of purchase voids the warrenty-
I can try to scan a copy of the Nismo press release showing that the parts that are coming out are designed with the factory warranty in mind and that they do not void any existing warranty. I read this several times because it seemed so suprising.

There is a huge rumor even in the SRT world that the Stage 1 does not void your warranty, but it does as shown above. Why would factories build these parts then? Because they know that we will buy them and they will make money, not a lot, but some. I for one would rather buy a Mazdaspeed badged FMIC (even though they really aren't making it) than an "aftermarket" type one. Kind of like Run DMC wouldn't wear Nikes with their Adidas jogging suits even though Nikes are decent shoes.

Proparts-

Is the tubing for the FMIC plastic? It kind of looks like that in the first pic.

Thanks,

Hehe, I'll ask them about the SMIC and get back to you on that. There is no updates because things are just to (screwy) over there and here.

I thought Mazdaspeed only made parts for the "serious racers" and they aren't available to just anyone. Are they changing this?

One thing I forgot to mention.

The Kit includes a new aluminum piping that goes from the Maf sensor to the turbo inlet. It will go the same route as stock.

The Injen CAI will not work. I'm trying to see if our company (Tri-point engineering) will be able to make a intake pipe that will have less bends in it. I won't know that until later on of course. In this version the K&N Cone style air filter that comes with the Injen cai will not fit because the hood is going to hit it. Stock air box is required.

Talking to some people the Stock Air box is acutally suppose to be the best for the car unless of course your getting a cold air source (I.E.) AEM OR injen. I will let you know if we find out anything.

I hope to dyno the car with a custom fitted CAI Injen Extension, w/ Stock air box and w/ K&N Cone style filter.

Stock box is fine w/ me!! :D

BTW,

I noticed that the model you are working on is a 3.5 .. . . . . .. what about the 03's that have fogs? I hope it'll still work w/ them.
